SOURCE: Whirlpool dishwasher model gu1200 not working

I checked. There is no sheet of any kind inside or below the door of my Whirlpool dishwasher.

In any case, opening up the non-washing washer revealed that the filter behind the chopper assembly was clogged with food. I cleaned it off, put the thing back together again, and it was washing dishes again, until about three days later. I took it apart again and found food clogging the filter behind the chopper. I thought the chopper wasn't chopping, so I replaced it. It was around $16. About three days later it wasn't washing dishes again.

Further examination (dis-assembly of the sump motor and impeller) revealed that the end of the impeller (which is designed to engage the chopper) had broken off, thus the chopper no longer spins with the sump motor. The impeller costs about $20 and isn't too hard to replace, as long and you keep track of what you've dis-assembled and put it back together in reverse order.

On whirlpool dishwashers, the sump motor drives the impeller (it's connected via the threaded end of the motor shaft) and the impeller, in turn, drives the chopper. The chopper you can replace from inside the tub, without removing the dishwasher from its home or taking apart the sump assembly. But save your $16, as that probably isn't what is wrong... The impeller, being screwed onto the motor shaft, requires complete removal of the dishwasher so that you can completely remove the base assembly that holds the motor assembly.

If you have a GU-series whirlpool washer, the tech manual can be found here:

It has complete instructions for the replacement of every part.

SOURCE: Whirlpool APDW2 dishwasher not filling with water

The problem is probably a failed solenoid valve that opens/closes for water to come in and stop when the float says it is full.
If the solenoid is not the problem, the main controller could have failed.
Good Luck!

It sounds like the inlet valve for the hot water , if you turn the water off remove the two wires going to the valve remove the valve, you have to remove the water hoses I think they are 1/2 " wrench, it comes a part easy it may just be clog up with junk , be carful of the rubber gasget , this is an easy fix I am sure you can do this , also always turn power off first !!!

Whirlpool GU1500X dishwasher motor noise got loud

Hello- Yep- it's toast. A small seal on motor shaft failed, causing water to destroy bearings. Motor is about 100$. Installation instructions available if you choose that route. Let me know if this info helps- have more if needed.- Thanks - Ed

Dishwasher won't fill with water. sometimes

try to check the electrical conection or replace the valve (is very cheap, lo cost under 10 $). unplug from main suply the washer and check the wires from the valve until tha board.also you may have a problem whit the presostat (a round thing whit a small hose and 2 or more wires). in the first step check the wires and the smal hose from presostat (blow air from the top, where in on the presostat) and try to clean the entrance from inside of dishwasher. or much easy, call a repairman, that must be a simple job for him!

We have a Sears Ultra Wash III dishwasher, model 665.1677993, bought in October, 1995. It is not filling with enough water to get the dishes clean. I took the water valve out and looked at it and it...

There should be another letter after the p in your model number. If it's just a B then there are no parts available for that model. Typically a dishwasher will fill for 90 seconds or more. One minute or less sounds like you have a control board issue. I don't work on much older dishwashers, but I have run into this problem with newer Whirlpools. And it usually checks out to be the board. At fourteen years old I would think about getting something new. I'm not trying to sound bad, its just your running into the problem of not being able to get parts...hope this helps...

The clicking sound could be coming from an internal relay since you don't think it is coming from inside the machine.

Unit never washes...

Check water level:
Run the DW and wait for the main wash to start (water will fill. pause then complete fill) The water should be about 1/4 to 1/8 inch below the heating element. If not there..replace water inlet valve.

Dishwasher filles up with water between running it. I have to run the drain cycle at least once or twice daily. I have shut off the water valve to it for now.

sounds like the water valve is leaking. If there is some dirt in the valve it will cause it to not fully seal and shut off. If the hapens water will leak by. Replace the inlet valve and your dishwasher will not fill when its not in use
