Hi , probably you have some air trapped in the lines. with the water supply connected locate where main input is (usually on the lower right side on back of fridge.) if fitting is plastic it's hand tight, lossen it and for about 5 sec let the water seap out, re tight and that may solve has worked in my case.

I have GE Arctica Profile fridge, PSS25MGMCC, that needs cleaning in the ice/water dispenser area. It is very dirty up in the dispenser, I would like to take it apart to clean it. Any ideas how to take...

Hi,

Please follow these instruction to the letter to avoid replacing control board parts. Unplug refer from wall, then there are two tabs under the control panel to the dispenser (there is holes and inside the holes are plastic tabs the must be slightly push in to release control) once released there is only two screws on some models holding this together, other only had tabs that release the plate. The whole things slides out and thats it, again unplug the unit to avoid shorts and reassemble in reverse order. Any question please ask.

Good Luck

Water leaks out of the dispenser

Hi

Under some circumstances the water dispenser can leak water into the spill trap when not in use. This problem could be caused by one of several scenarios involving the installation of the refrigerator doors. Small leaks are often triggered when a new water filter is installed. The exact location of some parts will vary depending on your model of refrigerator.

Keep a glass under the dispenser for up to three seconds after releasing the lever. The water doesn't cut off immediately, and there may be a few remaining drops in the system. This is normal and doesn't need any further attention.Run the water dispenser into a large container for three minutes. Empty the contents of the container down the sink. A newly installed water filter may spurt or leak water from the dispenser until the water is run for a few minutes. Some dispensers may cut off after a few minutes automatically.

Run the dispenser intermittently -- five seconds on, five seconds off -- for two minutes. This measure clears air trapped in the supply line, filter and dispenser system. Some dispensers will spurt or leak water until all air is purged from the system. You should follow this step each time the water is disconnected or the filter changed.Ensure all components of the water supply have been properly connected. All connections should be tightly screwed in place and pipes straight so water doesn't leak out of the pipes or dispenser nozzle. Contact a technician if you didn't install the refrigerator yourself.

Water dispenser does not work

Remove lower grill and disconnect the water line going through the freezer door hinge. Usually it is a push lock fitting, which requires you to push the ring2.gif on the end of the fitting toward the center of the fitting while pulling (not hard) on the plastic tube. Now place a pan under the separated plastic hose and try the water dispenser. If water comes out, your problem is a frozen water line in the freezer door. A warmer freezer temp may help, or you can order and install a WR49X10173 water tube heater. (the heater may take 24 hours to thaw the line, but I have used it successfully several times. Cost about $50) If no water comes out the separated tube when you try to dispense water, reconnect the tube at the hinge by pushing the plastic line back into the fitting. Now, at the back of the refrig., disconnect the water line going from the water valve to the fresh foods compartment. Try to dispense water. No water at valve outlet = bad valve. Water dispensed from valve now = frozen water filter or water line at back bottom of fresh foods compartment. (make sure you disconnect the right tube. If in doubt, disconnect them both, just get them back correctly so your icemaker continues to work) Send me additional comments if needed. Don't rate before you try all the steps.

I think your water dispenser switch is broken behind the area where you press your cup to get water. Go tom site below and enter the model HSS25GFPAWW into model search feature and it takes you to a photo of the switch #72 in photo The part number is different WR23X10224 I could also be mwrong but if you need to contact me my email is appliancepartsse@yahoo.com http://servicepartstec.blogspot.com/ <site

sounds like the switch tabs are broken off of the switch bracket behind the dispenser front cover. you should hear a distinct click when you oush in on either lever for ice or water if not then that bracket is broken.  if you'll look on the very bottom of disp cover you will see 2 slots insert a small flat blade screw driver and pry the cover off then you'll see a white bracket with switches and wiring on it look at the black switches and most likely the little plastic posts that hold them on are broken. the bracket is inexpensive and very easy to repalace. if you have any urhter questions just ask thanks peyton...

No water on dispenser Model#ED5CHQXKQ01

most likely you have a frozen water line to the dispenser. it could be inside the back of the refr section that is just too cold or inside the freezer door.
either one can be tested by allowing each to warm up for 15 to 20 minutes and see if you get water thru door.
do you hear a buzz from the water valve coil when you push the dispenser lever? if so then the water line is probably frozen somewhere.

Ice maker and water dispenser

Defective solenoid on dispenser line or bad/leaky tubing at exit of solenoid are the likely culprits for your water problem. The lever "Must" move freely to "monitor" the level of the ice in the bin. If stuck or hanging up, the unit goes into "standby mode"......accordianman

Ice Will not dispense

Check that the dispenser is not locked. Some models have a lock feature that deactivates the dispenser levers and control buttons. The lock button is on the dispenser front cover. This feature controls unintentional dispensing during cleaning. Press the "Unlock" or "Locked" button to reactivate the dispenser levers and allow dispenser function. You may need to hold the button for 2 to 3 seconds.          http://whirlpool.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/whirlpool.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=110&p_created=1147725595&p_sid=lTIkCMOi&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MzEmcF9wcm9kcz0xOTkmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PTEuMTk5JnBfY3Y9JnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9d2F0ZXIgZGlzcGVuc29y&p_li=&p_topview=1
