Question about Canon PowerShot SX110 IS Digital Camera

Open Question

My memory card won't go into the slot. I'm putting it in the right way but it feels like there's something in the way. It won't click into place and is 4-5 milimeters from being in all the way. WHY?

SOURCE: Cannot insert the memory card - push in, won't seat, springy feel

Make sure that you insert the SD card in the correct orientation. If not, it will not lock into place. The SD card is push in to insert and push again to eject.

There is a small diagram showing the correct way to insert the card just below the left hand side of the slot.

SOURCE: i have a Lumix Panasonic

Couple of things with this camera and I can feel your frustrations it took a few minutes for me to confirm my suspicions of what may be happening.
First off is the SDHC card unlocked here is a diagram
Diagram
tri3mast_152.jpg
The next thing is after you make sure the memory card is unlocked attempt to format the card, that's format not delete pictures files formatting allows the camera dn memory card to properly communicate between each other.

Here is a diagram of the memory card capacity of yhour camera, it is for an SD card but SDHC generally are larger capacities, to me you are over the edge of the camera capacity.

Not finished yet, if you have fallen into this unfortunate happening you maybe able to update your camera firmware (which is software for a camera) to a newer version that will allow a larger SDHC memory card. The web link to updates and downloads can be searched through the above address

Xd picture card will not click into place on Olympus e-420. Results in prompt "card reader error."

Are you sure it is a xD card and not an SDXC?

Then there should be a little arrow, pointing in the direction it should be going while inserting.
Try to eject the card and reinsert the card.
If you never used a xD card, and nobody else ever tried to put something in the slot, the card should go in smooth.
After placing the card, don't forget to format the card in the camera.

Ram not working

Step 1:
A memory slot is a slot in your motherboard where you place your RAM (Random Access Memory) card. In layman's terms, the RAM is the "temporary memory" that the computer utilizes whenever it is turned on. If the computer cannot detect a RAM card installed in one of your memory slots, you have to troubleshoot the problem immediately.
Ensure that the problem is with the RAM slot and not the memory card. Turn off the computer, unplug all devices connected into the ports of your computer and open the computer casing. Refer to the manual of the computer to know the specific steps to follow in opening the computer casing. Remove the memory card from the RAM slot. To do this, unlock the card using both hands. Pull the card away from the slot to remove. Inspect the RAM card for any apparent physical damages. Wipe the card with a clean cloth to remove dust. Also wipe the memory slot in your motherboard. Place the RAM card back into the memory slot. Press the card into the slot until it clicks into place. Close the computer casing, connect the cables back into their respective slots and turn on the computer. Turn on the computer and see if the memory is detected. If the computer does not boot up, the RAM card is not detected by the computer. Assuming that you have two memory cards installed in the computer and the computer boots up, check if the second memory card is detected by the computer. Click "Start," right-click "Computer" and then "Properties." Under "System," check the amount of "Installed Memory (RAM)." If the RAM is not detected, the RAM slot or the RAM card itself may be malfunctioning. Place the RAM card into another memory slot in your motherboard and see if the card is detected. If it is detected, the other memory slot is malfunctioning. Do not install any RAM card into it to avoid further damage. If it is not detected, the RAM card may be malfunctioning. Insert another RAM card into the slot. If the RAM card is detected, the slot is malfunctioning.

How to unlock cell phone memory card

Hi!
there is a slide swith on the left side of the sd card.. this control the write protection of the card.

when the slide switch was moved in the direction of the contact..it means the write protection is disabled, and you can copy and write from that card.

when the slide switch is in the opposite direction it is enabled. there is no way you can access the files in the card.

the trick is you will need to put something that will place the slide switch in its enable position..how? by using any thin adhessives like tape.....HOWEVER, doing this may damage your card reader, because sometimes the tape stick inside the reader..

The best thing to do is this: If you buy a memory card.. better reformat the card before using it.. so that the lock program in itself will be deleted. then, only then you can access the card without the hassle of write disk protect....how? ...follow this steps.

Put the card reader with the memory inside in any of the card reader slot in the computer (mostly, usb slot)
when it auto runs. close immediately the program..do not access it..
Now, go to My Computer..
Right click on the drive for your card (most often, the drive reads: Removable drive (f:/).....click format..and press start..

After that formatting procedure.. your memory card is now free from any write disk protection message...Hope this help you.

If you find this information very useful, would you be kind to rate this solution and vote for this on the help below...thanks...

open up the side door before you do anything else. Look for a stick or RAM that looks like the one your going to be putting in. When you find the extra slot that the RAM is going in, your going to find two latches one on each side of the RAM slot. The memory itself is slotted meaning it can only go in one way. Put the memory in and line up the slot with the hold on the bottom of the RAM. It should snap into place and the latches will hold the memory into place.

As far as the video card is concerned, its going to go into a long white slot, it also can only go in one way, the metal part of the card will face the outside of the back of the computer and the card will snap into place. After you do this you might need to have to put a screw into the metal slot of the video card to keep it in place.

At this point you can hook up the monitor to the external video card and the thing you might have to do is install the drivers for the video card when you get into windows. It might not detect the video card properly which is why you might have to intstall the software for it.

Also do the memory first to make sure the computer sees it and boots up. If it does then turn the computer off and then do the video card. That way if there is a any problems it will be easy to figure out where the problem is right away.

I can't find the memory card slot on th 3785 camera. where is it.

I checked out the user manual and it looks like the SD memory card slot is located right next to the battery. Just open the battery compartment and look near the hinge and you will see a place to put an SD memory card. Here is a link to a pdf version of the manual which is nice to have even if you have the printed version:

Take Care,

Memory card or slot error

if the problem is not the memory stick, then you have a damaged card slot in the psp.

when you insert it on slot, you must make it slowly. if you strongly inserted it, you must have damaged it. or in better cases you have a dirt, faulty contact in slot.

first, look inside the slot, and try to see if the contacts are intact and lined with each other, something like this: | | | | | | | if you see that some of the contact are out of place ( | | | / | | | ), you must take it back in place. the same problem happens with nintendo ds games. if dirt, buy a cleaning kit and clean the contacts.
