Yeah .... thanks man. I will check that out. I hope it isn't that my hard drive shut down. It's been in storage for a minute. But thanks again. May have to send it to transfer the files.. But at least I know now.

Hi! Does it have a beep sound? If it doesnt make any sound then its got to be a hard drive or motherboard failure. If you can swap a hard drive just to check if it will boot up its better before replacing. For if it doesnt boot on the swapped hard drive then its gotta be a motherboard problem. The board may have blown capacitors which causes the PC to fail. You will have to replace the main board. Hope this helps and have a good one!

No... it did not make a sound. Yet when I tried to turn it on, the green light came on, then there was a steady orange light on the front end of the computer. I'm not sure how voltage will effect a computer. However, I recalled a time when I had the wrong Voltage. It would not turn on correct unless I had the right voltage too. I will find a working drive. And see how that work too. Okay? thnx.

My ibm thinkcentre desktop shut off will i was working and now will not boot up,i checked the back of the computer i have a steady green light and an steady orange light what can i do?

I think you may need to replace the power supply. According to lenovo, who have taken over the thinkcentre brand, if the normal power light and both the green and orange lights at the back are on then it means the power supply needs replacing. It seems that this the only time the orange light comes on.

Here's a link to a troubleshooting page, I suggest running through it first in case it's something simple which has been overlooked, and you can also see what the lights mean for yourself.

I hope this helps you out.
