I assume this is for the stero rather than the car itself. Take it to a good car audio shop and they will be able to recode the headunit for a price or at least put you in touch with someone that can

I had to open my battery connection of my car for a reason. Later when I turned on the ignition. My gathers multi av system started to ask for a 5 digit security code, which I dont have. Pls help.

You will need to see the dealer to obtain the code. It was given to the original owner of the car along with the owners manual and other new car paperwork.

What do you do when the radio says, Lock?

If you have installed a radio from another car chances are it locked. Its a security device in the radio to prevent theft. If its the original radio in your car then the dealer might have the unlock codes you need.

RADIO CODE

If the radio does indeed have a code, while you have it out is the best time to get it done. You can contact a VW dealer, they will need the model and serial numbers off of the unit to get the original code for you. You may have to provide proof of purchase, as the reason these have codes is to keep people from stealing them, but if the dealers just gave out codes to anyone with a radio in their hands, the security feature really doesn't work, now does it?

Dont know security code to tape deck for 97 honda accord

You will need to pull out the radio and look for the serial number. Call your nearest Honda Dealer and ask for service. They should be able to give you the code. Otherwise if your not the original owner, people sometimes write it on the back of the owners manual.

Hi i have a 1993 mitsubishi 3000 and when i disconnected my battery i went to turn my radio on but it asked me for a pin number but i dont know it,the letters off appear on the radio face i think it was...

You can call the dealer and get the code. If the radio still says CODE you can enter the number with presets 1,2,3,4. If it says off you have to leave the car on for one hour and it will reset back to CODE. The dealer might give you the code over the phone but they may make you come in. If its the original radio they should be able to retrieve the code by your VIN number

Stereo security code

These security codes are protected legally, as they serve anti-theft purposes. You will need to contact the manufacturer, a dealer, or an authorized repair/service center to request assistance with obtaining the necessary code. They will also likely ask for some proof of purchase to ensure the legitimacy of the transaction.

Car radio

Found this on another site.

General Motors coded THEFTLOCK® radios have a backup unlocking code that can be accessed by a General Motors dealer or a Delco® radio repair center if the owner programmed security code is not available. Honda, Acura and Audi anti-theft radios are examples that will require radio removal to access the radio serial number that a dealer needs to obtain the factory security code. Sometimes the original dealer for a vehicle may keep records of the radio security code for factory-coded radios.

Sounds like you may have to remove the stereo so you can see the code on the back.

Then I would take it to a local dealer and prove its your vehicle and give them the serial number.

They should be able to decipher it for you.

Best of Luck.
