well, I think I fixed it - tried the "child lockout" - at first I got an F1 error, 2nd time I tried it seems to have worked.

SOURCE: code f9 on frigidaire self cleaning oven. what

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. F9 error in your oven/range indicates an issue with the door locks assembly and/or the door latch. To start with check the door lock circuit, you can also try to jump start it to see if it's working. If it's not working then the Electronic Range control has gone bad and should be replaced, if it is working then the door lock circuit should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

SOURCE: f9 code

We tried resetting the circuit breaker several times and it wouldn't work. Amana told us to set it to bake and see what happened. When it clicked on in Bake mode, the F9 code disappeared and the door unlocked. Good luck.

SOURCE: frigidaire oven f9 code

Here's the info from the service manual:

"Fault Code: F9

Likely Failure Condition/Cause:
1. Door motor failure / jammed. Latch
motor switch failure.
2. Control software failure, or component
failure (relay stuck).
3. Wiring Problem.

Suggested Corrective Action:
1. Press CLEAR key.
2. If CLEAR key does not eliminate problem, turn off power for
30 seconds, then turn on power.
3. Check wiring of Lock Motor, and Lock Switch A and Door
Switch circuits.
4. Unplug P4, apply power (L1) directly to the Lock Motor, if the
motor does not rotate, replace Lock Motor Assembly. Plug
P4.
5. Check Lock Switch A for proper operation (do they open and
close, check with ohmmeter). The Lock Motor may be
powered as in above step to open and close Lock Switch. If
the Lock Switch is defective, replace Motor Lock Assembly.
6. If all above steps fail to correct situation, replace control."

F9 error message during self cleaning

Dennis the F9 indicates the door lock switch has not positioned correctly. By what you are describing it sounds like the lock mechanism did not pull the door in tight for the cleaning resulting in the code. It's possible it could be a pinched wire on the locking mech. What needs to be done here is that someone has to examine the door lock mechanism to insure it's operating correctly. The door should be pulled tight and the switch sould be closed on the cam. I tried to "clean" the oven and only got a F9

The F9 error code indicates a problem with the oven door lock assembly. The door lock assembly will need to be checked and replaced if defective. If the door lock assembly is okay, then the electronic oven control board will need to be replaced.

F9 reset, no heat and door wont lock for cleaning. no heat for regular oven either

Hi. The unit is programmed to not operate,or heat, when there is a serious fault within the door latch assembly. This F-9 code, represents a failed door latch assembly. This device must be replaced. Once replaced, the unit will operate correctly.

NOTE_ Try to reset the mechanism. This can be done by shutting down the power, or unplugging for five minutes. Once the five minutes have passed, simply, re-introduce power to the unit, and observe. if the error code returns, replace the door latch assembly.

F9 code

I hit the same F9 problem when trying to self-clean, except that the door was locked OPEN.

After much trial and error, I found the following fix: 1. Switch circuit breaker off. 2. Switch circuit breaker on. 3. Press Bake button. 4 Press the small/inside button which indicates that the oven door is closed.

The lock mechanism opened and the oven now works fine.
