Don't use the disc anymore....device should be using newer drivers these days. Go to the HP Support site, I'll give you the link below. Put in the device model number in the search box, it will show you your device, choose drivers/software, it will then ask you what operating system the computer is using....choose that from the drop down menu. It will then display all the drivers or software for that model and OS. Scroll down until you see the entire software package for that printer....knowing HP, it is going to be about 325 mb depending on the package, you need this package to be able to scan, fax etc, etc. Part of this package is HP's HP Solution Center which is a graphical interface that allows easy navigation through the different HP printer programs that are available. Download the package and then run the installer and follow the prompts as asked by the software.

My lexmark x2670 prints copys but it will not scan a document ocr it scans but will not process it .,then tells me it needs a program that has been deleated or lost i am using vista 32bit noel

You will need to update the printer software installed on your computer to install the OCR scan software. The Lexmark OCR scan software is available only on the installation disc that came with your printer. Just re-insert the install disc into the computer hard drive and run the installation setup.
If you lost the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

HP PSC 2355 error

Hi Brown3377;
when you install the HP Software, what selection did you choose? is it the recommended or custom settings? maybe you missed the scanner driver for your printer that is why it says you need to install it first. you can insert your HP cd and check it out, click custom install and double check to see if you have the scan driver selected, if not, select it then install... then try to remove the printer usb cable, reboot your printer and computer.

I cant get it to stnc to my computer

If your device came with a disc, insert the disc into the CD/DVD drive and install any software needed for the device. Most devices come with the needed software already in the device and should automatically install when plugged in. Try to install any needed software onto the computer as this software contains the appropriate drivers and programs needed in order for your device to properly communicate with the computer. If you do not have a disc or software, check the manufacturer website for any software downloads. Check your user's manual it will tell you what to do in the troubleshooting section.

I DONT KNOW HOW THE SCANNER WORKS.WHERE TO INSERT THE PICTURE I WANT TO SCAN.

Which device do you have? If it is an all-in-one that does not have an automatic document feeder (ADF), you lift up the scanner cover and place your photo face down on the glass. If there is an ADF, place the document face up in the feeder. (Using the ADF is not recommended for pictures.)

If it is a stand-alone scanner, the cover is more obvious. For single-sheet scanners, check the manual for which side of the document needs to be forward.

Depending on the OS and software installed, you launch your scan program and adjust the resolution and destination and press scan. (If you have an all-in-one, you may need to install the manufacturer's full-featured software first. Otherwise you will only get printing enabled.) If you use a generic OS driver, the buttons on the unit will not trigger the computer responding to the commands.

Set the destinations for scanner buttons in the software before using the unit buttons when using the full-featured software. Check the manual for specific information. The button presses are noticed by a monitoring program. If that isn't running the unit buttons will not work.

I hope this helps.

(Windows XP, Vista and Win7 all accept scans in Paint (File > Import from Camera or Scanner > New Scan). Vista and Win7 also have Windows Fax and Scan that can acquire scans.)

Hi I have an Hp officejet 4200 series and I am trying to scan something but when i press the scan button the printer says that I need to install or run device software for feature. I don't know how to do...

Install the drivers from the HP website. Find your printer in this list. Once you navigate through to the available drivers, locate the full feature one. Download and install it.

There is no application registered for this event is the message I get when pressing the buttons on the scanner (email/copy/scan buttons)

In the software setup, there will be a place where you program each of the Application Buttons to access a program you have installed on your computer.

Examples are: Photoshop, Email, OCR, Corel Photopaint, etc. any program that could use a feature called, "Aquire" which is simply getting a graphic from the scanner.

Be shure to install the Applications disc that came with the scanner, (not just the driver). And run the configuration, or settings tool, to set up what programs will run when you press the Quick access buttons on the scanner.

Otherwise, you can access the scanner features from a menu item called "Aquire" in Photoshop, Corel photopaint, or in Microsoft Office it's in the menu, string Insert - Image - from scanner or camera.

There are some complications with the WIA driver, and reccomends using the ScanGear CS software instead. I'm guessing WIA is (Windows Interface Access, or Windows Instant Access) whatever, it is, it is the buttons you're talking about.
I downloaded a driver from Server 1, Here, to get an Idea about your hardware. IF that link dosn't bring you to a site that says,
"Downloading Driver Canon CanoScan LiDE25"

then start here a few steps back, and find your model number in the list.

If you have the driver disc for this device, just use that,
if you have already done that,
find your scanner software on the Start Menu, and look for a configuration tool.

Hope this helps.

When trying to scan, 7210 doesn't see/recognize networked computers

From each computer, you need to run the HP Director. When opened, click on SETTINGS, then SCAN TO settings to configure. This way it will transfer data to the scanner so that when at the scanner, that computer will be in the list of places to send a scan job.
