Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer Running, fridge warm. freezer cold, not frozen - 2_bing.gif and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Hello, my LG Refrigerator (lmx28988st) is acting up. The fridge stays cold, but the freezer won't freeze (its stays around 45F). It has the french doors for the fridge, 2 drawers for bottom freezer.

Have you confirmed the freezer door switch is functional? If this switch fails to detect the door is shut (you may or may not get an alarm), the unit will fail to cool properly. Meaning the actuator will not allow cold air to be diverted to the freezer.

looks as evaporator fan is working. have you ever clean condensor under the fridge. possibility it is pluged with dust and not allowing compressor to cool down.
Also check the fan at the back of the fridge beside the compressor. see if it is working

Fridge started running warm. Turned almost all the way cold and its running about 41 degrees. Freezer is fine

The most common thing is the condensor coils in the freezer get ice on them and the defrost cycle does nto take place to clear the ice. The defrost timer might be bad.

the ptc overload/relay on the compressor is bad and not starting the compressor,remove back cover unplug the ptc off the compressor and replace it with a new exact replacement part

Frig side is warm, Evaporator is frozen. checked defrost heater and is has continuity. Condensor coil was very dirty. Cleaned both coils and restarted. If it freezes back up again what do you recommend....

Freezer is cold, refrigerator is warm. sounds

check the fan from the freezer side if its not running /possible frozen or jammed will cause the refridge side to be warm the fan blows the freezer air into the fridge side to cool their is also a damper or duct control which can build up if no blockage or debris test fan for power if power than test fan it self if not running than repair or replace as necessary

Freezer gets 10 below 0 and fridge is 60 degrees

Check and clean the condensor coils. Make sure the air ducts are free f frost and not blocked by anything. Make sure the light is turning off when the door is closed.

Fridge sounds like it is running, but freezer is not frozen

Unplug the Ref for 20-25min, Plug it back in and listen for the compressor to start. You will need to be behind the Ref so you can tell if it is the compressor or the condensor fan running.

If it is running and not cooling then it could be low on coolant.
