There is likely to be a part shorting out and force the machine to shut down. A diagnostic test will surely help determine what the problem is but the exact model number of the washer is needed for the specific procedure on how to enter the diagnostic test. Please indicate the exact model number of the machine for specific troubleshooting and repair advice. You don't have to accept or reject and rate this post to add information or post comments and follow-up questions. Accepting a solution does not stop you from posting comments or follow-up questions. You can continue communicating with an expert as long as you need assistance regarding the issue stated herein.

A technical data sheet can also be found inside the machine containing the procedure on how to activate the diagnostic test and other troubleshooting instructions.
Remove the three screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off and locate the technical data sheet . You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access the screws more easily.

Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped? If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it. Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.

i've unplugged it for several minutes, hoping that would help, plugged it back in and it will still not workit has power, the power button works, all buttons seem to work, but when i hold the 'start' button for the required second or two rather than starting like it has for months and months it simply powers offchanging the selection knob to different settings causes the corresponding 'hot/cold', 'cold/cold', 'prewash', etc lights to come on as expected

i am in front of it now and it is not a 210, my mistake, it is a 110 he2t (full model # 110 47571601 if that helps)

hoses are not kinked, everything seems fine, it worked fine just yesterdayreally frustrated and can't imagine why it is not working. wish there was at least an error msg, but there is just nothing to give me a hinttried to run it earlier with a 'Delay Start' of 1 hour, hoping that would somehow work around the current dilema, i was pleased that it did not shut off immediately after i told it to start, but it obviously just shut down after the hour was up because i came back to a dry unwashed load and a powered off washer

My Kenmore front load washer will not fill--it sounds like it is draining instead. The last load washed did not spin correctly and the clothes were very wet when cycle completed.

Washer Not Filling:

  • Door Not Closed and Locked
    • Front load washers won't fill if the door is not closed and locked. Listen for the door locking when starting a cycle, then pull on the door to make sure the door is closed and locked.
  • Delayed Start Feature
    • Some washers have a delay prior to filling, where the electronic control is checking the dispenser function. This is Normal.
  • Flashing Lights or Error Code on Display
    • When there is a filling issue, the washer may shut off and display one of the following codes: LF, LE, nF, IE, FH, E10 or F20.
    • If the washer is displaying one of the above error codes, then do the hard reset procedure listed below.

If the appliance is not accepting input from the control panel, follow the steps below to reset the control:

  1. Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
  2. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet or turn the breaker back on and wait 30 seconds.
  3. Press the Pause / Cancel / Stop button twice to clear the display.
  4. Start a short cycle, to check operation of the appliance, by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the appliance starts.

Hard Reset - In some cases the control can be non-functioning or may not accept activation from the control panel. To clear and restart the control follow the these steps:

* Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
* Reconnect the unit to the power source by turning the breaker back on or plugging the unit back into the wall outlet.
* Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the "PF" in the display.
* Start a short cycle to check the operation of the machine by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the machine starts.

Error Code F-20

I have same machine and manual says, "F20" on display (water inlet problem - no water or insufficient water supply). Select STOP twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug washer or disconnect power. Check the following. Are water faucets completely turned on? Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer clogged? Are water inlet hoses kinked? Are water inlet hoses frozen? Plug in washer or reconnect power. Re select cycle and press START. if the problem remains, call for service.

Kenmore Elite H3 Error Code F71

The computer needs to be reset most likely. You might try turning it off, uplugging the washer, leaving it off for a bit and starting over. They are touchy little machines, I've found, not just your brand either. Mine comes on everytime the power blinks on and off in a storm :0) Best of all have a look in your manual and if you don't have it go to the manufacturer's site and download a new one or look for support there. Good Luck to you.

F28 ERROR

I have a Kenmore Elite that has done the same thing, I had to press power and then start (to start a new cycle) then the stop/cancel button and this unlocked my door. Power and then cancel/stop just turned off the power again and did not unlock the door. I hope this works for you.

Front load washer won't start

Telescope, Im assuming your model starts with 417.44092, Kenmore made by Frigidaire. You have the best model with the digital display. Try unplugging the machine for 5 minutes to see if you can reset the board. If that doesn't work put it into a test mode by doing the following: Turn the dial to drain spin, press cancel to turn off the led's. Within 5 seconds press and hold the options and pause/cancel together for 5 seconds. All the led's should light. Now by turning the dial 1 click at a time clockwise you are going to test the following. 1rst click- hot water solenoid 2. bleach solenoid 3. Bleach and wash water solenoid 4. door lock solenoid activates 5. door lock solenoid de-activates. 6. the washer will fill and tumbe. 7. washer will fill and spin 8. drain pump and door lock will activate and washer will go in high spin. 9 clicks from the start, the last error code will be displayed. To clear the error, press and hold the options and cancel buttons for 3 seconds. To exit the test, just unplug the washer for 5 seconds. Sometimes these electronic boards just get a glitch and have to be reset. Make sure that the dispensor door is shut all the way. Try these things first...Catriver..post back.
