Question about Sony KDS-50A2000 50" HDTV
Suddenly turned off without warning. Power button is flashing green. It flashes green 14 times and then sounds like it tries to restart.....and then just keeps flashing green continually after that. Lamp looks good. Fan remains on during this entire process. There is no red light at any moment. Constant green light flashing on power button with no picture or sound.
Symptom shows tv needs lamp replacement as existing lamp is reaching to end of its working life and causing that problem.
If you have not replaced lamp in last 2-3 years, replace it to fix the tv issue. I can explain why tv shuts down itself and turns back on.
I do not agree with info provided about bulged capacitors in power supply so please do not take off back of tv unnecessarily.
Lamp replacement procedure would be written in user manual and let me know if you need to download manual copy.

All you need is to open the back cover of the television and check on for dry soldering at the power stage of the printed circuit board, also check for bulged capacitors, if found replace with same rating of voltages , but if otherwise Ur power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get ur tv power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Hope this helout, Good luck....
