Re: RCA P56926 Would not turn off
This tv make a lot loose connections. If you re solder and nothing change, check fly back area's is OK?... Look around convergence board for liquid coolant ( some times CTR liquid coolant projection splitter , becarfull, Liquid is danger!!) Wash yous hands and clean chassis with acetone.

Hi Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that you have to
replace the convergence IC and also check the power resistor, if values are not
exact you have to replace them. These ICs are located behind the black heat
sink; you can see once you open the back off the TV. Also, the convergence
board should be checked for cracked solder joints and please make sure to check
the resistors as if they are shot the ICs might blow again. All this is only
recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder
components, if not then you should get this done by a professional. The typical
cost to get this fixed by a pro is around $250-$300. Please do accept the
solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Remove the speaker cover on the front, it just pulls off. Pry each side a little at a time. There are 4 screws that hold the screen on. Remove them and the screen just lifts off. There are wires attached to the controls so, keep that in mind when lifting the screen.
i had this same problem with my big screen, it may be your connections. make sure they are all tight and make sure your cable wire isnt defective. you may also need a signal ampifier, like if you have to many tvs plugged into cable throughout your house. in my experience, 4 is about all you can have without messing with signal strength
Your set has a repair issue with the convergence circuit.
Adjustments in the service menu will not help.............I agree
with Guest comment.... circuit board repair or replacement is
what you both need.....................T.
