Question about NorStar Meridian M7310 Phone

2 Answers

We have a M7310 meridian with startalk voicemail. We programmed the auto attendant greetings correctly, which comes after three rings. However this greetings is followed by another old greetings by previous owner and we are not able to locate it and delete it. We have tried a lot of things but failed.Even the local phone specialist says it is a ghost voice mail and cannot be deleted. Once again this is not individual phone greeitng but auto attendant greeting

I do not think the solution pertians to the question.
As mentioned it has got nothing to do with individual mail box or its greetings.

This is related to Auto Attendant. When you login as Admin and use 'AA' , record say greeting -1 and assign it to a table and inturn assign it to a line ( We have assigned all lines same table, same greeting)

When some one calls from outside after 3 rings the Auto Attendant greetings comes on and if no extension is picked (as instructed by the AA greeting), another old greetings comes on. No idea where this old greeting resides and how it comes. We need solution to locate and delete the old greetings.

    Hope the question is clear

Hi,reset the admin password.

Norstar Voicemail for Call Pilot

**************************************************************************
Log In to System Administration:
1. Enter Feature 983 on a programming set
2. The display will show "LOG:", enter login password: "1020000"
3. Press the softkey under "OK"
4. Select the softkey under "MBOX"
5. Select the softkey under "DEL"
6. Enter the mailbox number (extension. you want to delete - 123)
7. Select the softkey under "Delete"

8. Press the RLS button to end.

Voila, now the mailbox is deleted.

Ok ~ well if you do a Feature 980, 12 and leave a message, is this the greeting that you heard.

Well you can change that extension 12 password:

How to Change a Mailbox Password 1. To access the voice mail system press "Feature".
2. Press "983".
3. When you see "Log:" enter "120000" for 2 digit extension numbers, enter "1020000" for 3 digit extension numbers.
4. Press "OK".
5. Press "MBOX".
6. Press "CHNG".
7. Enter the mailbox number you wish to reset.
8. Press "Reset".
9. Press "Rls" to exit (orange button to the right of the number buttons).
Default password is "0000".
By changing that password for the admin mailbox, you can change the greeting, -or- there is another choice, change where 12 goes to from the CCR tree (Custom Call Routing).

Meaning when you hear "press 1 for x press 2 for y and press 3 for z", that is the CCR Tree... if someone dials 12 it goes to a route 12, which points to an extension.

We can alter where 12 points to:
1. Enter Feature 983 on a programming set
2. The display will show "LOG:", enter login password: "1020000"
3. Press the softkey under "OK"
4. Select the softkey under "OTHR"
5. Select the softkey under "CCR"

6. Select the softkey under "ADMIN"
7. You will see CCR Tree: and type in 1 and "OK"
8. Select the softkey under "CHNG"
9. You will see PATH: type in 1 2 and "OK"
10. Select the softkey under "CHNG"
11. Press INT (for internal extension)
12. And type in the internal extension transfer is to go to, you can point it to the main reception set's extension.
13. Press the RLS button to end.

Not the normal voicemail problems

Before you can do anything you need a M7310. Programming a Nortel voice mail requires M7310. It uses the 3 soft keys under the display to program it. You can get one cheap on EBAY. Next you need to find out what type of Voice Mail System in connected to your Nortel phone system. Below is a link to a Older StarTalk manual. You may have a StarTalk, StarTalk Flash, or a Call Pilot.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!! DESPERATE!!!! M7310 NORSTAR - No one helped me with auto attendant but I figured it out. 1st greeting is you have reached... press one for touchtone... greeting is correct and says...

The problem you describe is not the fault of the phone, but a function of the Voice Mail system the phone is connected to. The solution previously posted is partially correct but each destination in the greeting table (the table entry associated with the number the auto-attendant recording tells the caller to press to reach a specific destination or feature) is assigned a function such as "info" or "forward" or a branch to another list of selections. If the selection does nothing then its configuration is incorrect, and it needs to be assigned to what ever function you want it to perform such as ring a specific extension, divert off to another branch of prompts, ring the attendant, etc. My suggestion is to get the model number and software revision on the Applications Module ("NAM") and post your question with as much detail as possible to the Nortel forum on the Tech Talk board at Sundance Communications (http://sundance-communications.com/forum/). Lots of well-seasoned professionals hang out there and I've always received very good support from posting there - they are equally respectful of old-timers and noobs and I've found them to be very professional and helpful with everything from simple mailbox glitches to a set-relocation function gone crazy. I'd give it a try.

M7310 voicemail

You need to access Admin programming in the phone system and navigate to Capabilities and change the Forward No Answer to the DN of the voicemail....if unsure of any of this you need to be calling your vendor that handles the system for all issues or questions.

We have a Norstar - Meridian M7310 phone system. Today for some unknown reason when an incoming call comes in, the ring is two short rings rather that the "longer" ring that we normally have. I have...

The two short rings is telling you that the call is either a transfered call (answered by someone else and transfered) or answered by an auto attendant and transfered. Watch the ringing phone when the call comes in and see if the intercom LED blinks.

Norstar M7310 auto attendant problem

As far as changing the # of rings, that may be your phone company. Feature 983 will get you in to change to number of rings. It goes as follows:
Feature 983
System coordinator mailbox # and password
OK
AA
Lines
Enter Line Number
OK
Table
Rings
CHNG
Enter the desired number of rings
If after changing the number of rings the Auto atendant does not pick up at all, You have to call your phone company and set up the second delay through them. We had the same problem here.
