Question about Cell Phones

1 Answer

My iPhone 3G S was dipped into salt water when I walked from a boat to the sea shore. The water indicator inside of the earphone jack turned partially pink. When I connect the phone to iTune, the LCD screen showed proper image. iTune prompted me to restore the phone to factory default but the process failed to complete. The phone cannot be turned on.

Hi, the phone is still wet inside.it needs tobe tried properly for it to come on. But first make sure next time when a phone gets into, remove battery and dry up phone( by taking to be serviced of DIY).

You will need to unscrew the phone,
Take out the panel and use a methylated spirit and a brush to clean the panel of the phone,
After cleaning, use a dryer to dry properly(care fully).
After drying it, fix it back and screw.

    Charge battery properly(100%) before use.

After servicing it,if it does not come on, that means panel is dead and will need to be flashed to come on again.

You can use this link to see how to flash your phone.

    Take care.

I drop my iphone 4 in the sink

First of all: Don't try to charge it or turn it on unless you're sure all the water has come out. You write it's gotten hot. That means the battery discharged very rapidly du to the water inside the iPhone. It might be the battery or surrounding circuits have been damaged by this, but first let's get the water out.

Put your iPhone in a closed container filled with rice (uncooked! fresh from the store). Rice is (like salt) pulling all water from it's surrounding. Don't use salt as salt can lead to heavy corrosion.
It's a good idea to open the SIM tray.

If you keep this jar/box in a warm place for several days all water will evaporate from the iPhone case into the rice. After that you shouldn't see any traces of humidity left on the iPhone. If unsure leave the iPhone with the rice for a few days more.

Plug the charger in and wait a few minutes to see if the charging indicator shows up or the iPhone starts. Be prepared to pull the plug in case the iPhone gets host very fast. Good Luck.

Our internet works but my ipod says unable to join network. It was working a little bit ago

It could be a couple of things. It might be an issue with your WiFi router. Have you tried resetting the router? Then try reconnecting. Another issue is it could be software based. You could try first backing up your device on iTunes, and then try resetting the iPod to factory defaults by wiping it. Has the iPod been dropped or gotten wet? Check liquid indicators in the earphone jack and inside charging port. There should be a tiny white strip. If the iPod has had any water damage this strip will turn pink or red. Water damage can cause many of the functions to not work properly. Hope this was helpful

How do I open my i-Phone to repair a damaged earphone socket?

Are you sure it is damaged? Try cleaning the socket with compressed air, or a cotton swab which has been dipped in rubbing alcohol. If you are certain that it is damaged, then the following guides may help.

My apple iphone 3g will not turn on

My recommendation is if it is still under warranty and has no water damage take it to the Apple Store for replacement. They will look into the earphone jack to be sure there is no water damage and hand you a replacement. Once you get it restore the last backup point with iTunes.

IPhone 3GS: suddenly music only on the left

hi. i can help you. begin by cleaning out the little hole your ear buds plug into. Carefully clean the jack hole with a needle or a tough pick. It allowed me to remove a lot of cotton like dust. if that doesnt solve it go into your phone menu under audio settings and see if you have adjusted the balance to cause your problem.
also, You can try removing any debris that might be in the headphone jack by plugging and unplugging the headphones a few times.
If the issue is not caused by debris in the headphone jack, request repair/replacement of the Apple Earphones with Mic online here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

You can also request service by making a reservation with a Genius here: http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/or call AppleCare U.S. iPhone technical support at: 1-800-MY-IPHONE (1-800-694-7466)
