well asuming you already thought to turn the thermostat down, i would check to see if you have a freon leak. with the fridge running, paint the coils with soapy water untill you see bubbles. mark that spot and dry off the area around it. generously apply electronics grade solder to the area where the leak is. (be sure you don't melt the copper and unplug the fridge first) then continue untill you have checked the entire length of coil. when all ieaks have been stoped recharge with recomended freon.

leaving it switched on should settle the unit down can take a day or two though.you should have fully defrosted the unit and dried out as best you can before use...so that any build up of semi defrosted ice was removed...hope this helps....

Hi,the problem you are encountering is as a result of the fact that the thermostat which regulates the cooling temperature in the fridge/freezer is bad hence there is no regulation of the cooling temperature in the fridge/freezer section, hence the food in the fridge freezes up.
The solution is to replace the thermostat of the unit,here is how you go about it;
1.You have to disconnect the fridge from the power source.
2.Locate the thermostat at the bottom of the unit,at the top left corner above the condenser.
3.Now you need to locate the wire ends or wire harness and unplug them.
4.Replace the thermostat,reconnect it back,put the back cover back and you have completed the job.
Take care of yourself
