If the fan is working, then there is likely ice build-up in the vent between fridge and freezer. If you remove the farthest rear panel in the freezer and then pull the venting in the fridge and clean out all the ice, then the air can flow to the fridge again. It is also recommended to keep coils and compressor free of dust and make sure the drain hose is allowing water to drain into the drip tray in the back bottom of the unit.

go to a refrigeration supplier and buy a 3 in 1 kit meaning relay, capacitor and overload in one unit just follow the print in the unit and it should start after you plug it back to the wall make sure you disconnect before working on this unit let me know what happens. nice picture and very helpful for me.

I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL MODEL GI6FDRXXY 07, AND THE EVAPORADOR MOTOR DOESNOT WORKING... IT NO RECEIVE THE 12 V... WHY? A NEED A WIRING DIAGRAM... TO CHECK...

If your evaporator motor is not working, you are so correct. The air circulated in the refrigerator is due to the evaporator motor fan. If left to operate without a fan to provide a heat load for your compressor, it could cause your compressor to fail. Your problem is most likely the defrost sensor inside the cover of your evaporator. It is probably stuck open and will not put power to your evaporator fan. Take you model number to Searspartsdirect.com and find the defrost sensor for your refrigerator and replace it.
Hope this helps

Does the control thermastat have anything to do with the freezer on my refrigerator getting cold but not freezing

If you remove the evaporator cover and look at the frost on the evaporator is it fairly even frost from top to bottom? If you don't have frost on the bottom half of your evaporator then you have a freon leak. Do you have a model number for your unit?

Hi, I turned the refrigerator off to clean it out, turned it back on but not getting cold the freezer is working fine. Its a whirlpool about 3-5 years old. model # er2chmxpoo4.thanks hope you can help....

Do you hear a fan running in the freezer? If not, then you'll need to replace the evaporator fan motor, located in the freezer compartment behind the evaporator cover. Part # W10189703 . Now the fan would only run if the compressor was running, so turn the dials all the way to the coldest setting and check again to see if the fan is running. Hope this helps.

Drain pan filling up. I emptied the pan and about 24 hours later its full again. We have ice and water in the door the freezer is cold just pan filling

If your evaporator fan is working properly the water would evaporate back into your home or business. If the evaporator fan was not working the freezer would not freeze and fresh food would spoil. That is way too much normal condensate unless there is a leak around the door seal or leak in the cool water supply tank storage or filter area. Not knowing the model number I would think you may have a drain opening under the crisper drawer that leads to pan. And think it may be a good idea to turn water supply off until sure of the source. I have a Hotpoint, model # Hsm25gfre sa, that is cooling and freezing unevenly. Everything onthe bottom half of the freezer is frozen and the top half is thawing. Also, the water in the ice maker is not...

Make sure that the freezer fan is working and circulating the cold air. Then check the damper assembly to make sure that cold air is being circulated into the refrigerator. And lastly make sure that the self defroster is working - if not the evaporator will freeze up, freezer temps go up, and ice maker will not work if freezer temps are 10 degrees or higher. A digital refrigerator thermometer will confirm freezer temps being high.

Check to be sure you can get a replacement fan first, they last about 4 - 5 years. Can get from a parts supplier or electric motor company.
Unplug fridge. Located usually in top of freezer behind a vented cover plate. Remove cover, remove screws holding fan in, may have to cut wires. Replace with new motor, make sure the fan pushes air into the freezer area and doesn't spin backward drawing air from the freezer area.

Upper section of refrig. not cooloing. Remainder

check to make sure the freezer fan is turning. This should be inside the freezer unit at the top. It is probably behind an access panel.

If this fan is not turning, not enough cold air will move to the refrigerator side to keep it cold enough. If the fan has died, it will have to be replaced.

Refrigerator i not cooling. Do not feel any air moving on either side.

You access the fan in the freezer section towards the bottom half. there is a thin metal panel covering the fan and evaporater coils. Take out the shelves and then remove the screws to the bottom section starting approx halfway down the back of the freezer wall there you will find the evaporater fan.
