Hi; Two things to consider here:

1. Make sure to use an HE powder formulation. This will reduce the suds affect and prevent the build up of residue that will occur overtime when using a liquid form of detergent. This is very important. All front loaders are designed to only use the HE brand. If you are using a non-HE type of detergent, this will cause the over sudding to occur. You must switch over to a HE powder formula, asap.

2. Make sure you are not over filling the detergent dispenser. This can be a real problem when using a front loader. Over-filling will induce an over sudding affect, as well. Measure properly to prevent this from happening again.

NOTE_ Remember to only use the powder form and not the liquid. The liquid formulation will clog your drainage assembly. Also; make sure it is an HE brand and never overload the unit with clothes.

    • Additionally; Check the door seal or bellow to make sure it is properly sealing the opening when closed. If the door seal is creased, straighten it out. If the bellow is damaged, replace it. These are common leak spots. Make sure the door lines up correctly when closed.

Hi, you are likely using too much detergent or the detergent is not high-efficiency detergent. Change detergents and/or lower amount and this problem should go away.

The water port on the back allows air inside the tub to escape. However, if the wrong type or quantity of detergent are used, excess suds will flow from this port

Take care

I USE HE and I FILL JUST to the #1 line it like 1 tablespoon. Something else is causing the problem.

Hi, you have to call in LG and Sears to come and carry out a check on the machine instead of directing you because the solution i gave to was what they also gave to you.

    Take care

I would try to run the machine with no detergent and use bleach the first time, then just water only the second time so it clean itself out, then use just 1/4 of the recommended detergent and it should fix your problem

Check the pump.. the little door bottom left. take all the stuff out of there.. and there will be lots of "stuff". put a little pail under the hose part to catch the water first though.

Scrub the machine with three tablespoons of cascade dish detergent in the SOAP dispenser.. use a hot wash.. ( no clothes JUST a wash ) then follow that with one cup of bleach in the SOAP dispenser.

Hot fast wash. Usually this clears up the problem. Do this once a month.. but check that little door..

Water remains in the liquid detergent cup

This is by design. Water flows in and forces the detergent out. There will almost always be a little water left in the cup after a wash routine.

Usage of HE detergents

The best he soap I have seen yet is all, he is high effieciency low suds soap. The rule of thumb for liquid he soap is 2 Tbl for every 1 Tbl of softener. Powder can be used but is not good on pumps and build up in tubs. If you have a water softener you can use 25% less soap. Still with powder you need about a 1/4 cup per load to equal a 2 Tbl liquid variety. Suds damage pump impellers, seals and hoses from expansion and that is it on the reason "why to use he".

Usage of HE detergents

ONLY USE HE DETERGENT, The repairman just left my house today, 24 August 2009, my washer had water spewing from the detergent tray, and soaked my floors:PROBLEM, my hoses were filled with NON-HE detergent, the repairman was really nice and told me that it could have automatically voided my warranty, but he wrote it up "differently" and smacked my hand. He showed me the hose and if was just clogged terribly, he ran the spin and rinse cyle and I thought the suds would never go away, but they finally did.

HE ALL THE WAY from now on

You will need to have a qualified LG technician come out and see what the problem is.  You may have a water level switch issue.

LG TROMM Model WM2077CW-mildew on rubber

First and foremost you MUST use an HE detergent, HE(high efficency) is design specifically for fontloading machines.. and use little amounts of it, 2-3 tablespoons is all that is required to clean a full tub of clothing.
Jusst using less of regular detergent is not the same as using correct soap. the moldy smell and black filth when the front bellow is pulled back is actually residual detegent not being disovled in normal operation , all front loading washers are experiencing this issue, there is a new product on the market to help combat this problem and for the 1-2 months ive been reccomending no one has told me that it hasnt helpd. heres the link www.affresh.com

Suds in Sears Kenmore Elite Front Load Washer HE4t

I have a 2005 model HE-4-T washer. The SUDS error kept showing up. The problem was easy to fix. Step 1: Remove the sectional panel below the door by removing the 3 screws (7mm socket) on the lower edge, tilt the top towards you and lift out. Step 2: In the center of the section that you just exposed, locate the 3-inch, round, beige colored debris trap just prior to the water pump. Step 3: Unscrew the cover by turning counter clockwise while gently pulling towards yourself. Step 4: Remove all debris - I suggest an old toothbrush to get the small stuff. Step 5: Reverse previous steps to reinstall.

I found $1.09 in change, 4 hair barrettes, a small nail and a handfull of assorted lent. We will all check our pockets more thoroughly from know on.

LG Front Loading Washer overflows at detergent dispenser

you mean where you put the regular HE soap in? That slot is normal to overflow. The water carries the soap down (Lift the little doohickie up, it's removable for powder deterg.), and it carries it all the way to the tub...Unless i don't get it...but I'm reading the phrase "Its like the water will not go down to the tub.", and it makes me think the whole tray is overfilling with water..if this is the case, I can't help you, but filling over of the Main HE Soap tray is normal. (Just a little, if the whole thing starts filling uncontrollably, hit the power button.)

Repair man told me this is common with front load washers. I was told to put Sunlight dish washing detergent (for dishwashers not hands) in the machine (about 1/2 cup) and do a hot wash with the machine empty.
