Question about Dell Dimension 3100 PC Desktop
Open up the system and look at the wiring connections area.
This might be disconnected. If not, replace the cd/dvd mechanism,
as the cd/dvd player/writer is probably burnt out.
Also, check the BIOS that it is recognized by the motherboard.
