Question about Homelite Mighty Lite Lawn Trimmer

1 Answer

Carburator issue? My homlite weedeater has always run perfect. This year, it would only run on full choke. I looked closely and saw the primer bulb was torn. I figured the extra air was issue. I replaced primer bulb and now it only starts once in a while, and when it does, it only idles for about 5-10 seconds...and if I take choke off it stalls immediatley. When I turn it on it side, gas drips out and the filter is saturated with gas. Any help

Check the fuel line...it may be damaged as well. mine had a small crack in it and it was just replaced and now runs fine.

Why my weedeater idle to high and why air bubble in the primer bulb?

Its not un common to have air in the primer bulb, Check for a possible air leak in the system. This will make the saw idle higher than normal if its sucking air from elsewhere.

How do I start a weedeater fb25?

Press primer bulb 6 times
Move throttle lever to start position
Move choke lever to full choke position
Pull starter rope sharply until engine attempts to start, but no more than 5 pulls.
Move choke lever to half choke position. Pull starter rope sharply engine runs. If engine hasn't started after 5 pulls, repeat all steps above.
After warming up for 10 seconds, move choke lever to run position.

Cannot get the brushcutter started, it has spark but doesn't want to go. Have forgotten the method of starting, eg. 10 prime pumps, five pulls with full choke but turned off, then half choke turn on...

Normal starting practice is always done with the ignition on, primer as many times as it takes to 3/4 fill the bulb, move choke to full closed, crank engine until it fires once, move choke to half if there is a half position, crank engine until it starts and runs, move choke to full off.

I have a poulan PP4218 and after replacing the priming bulb my chainsaw will not run. When trying to start itwith the full choke out, it remains running hen it should just go off. Then push in one knotch...

first off are your lines hooked up correctly at primer bulb? secondly if your diaphram is making snapping noise when you push on it then replace it!! it should be very flexible and not snap when pushed on. next remenber that THE LINE COMING FROM TANK WITH FILTER HOOKS TO CARB THEN FROM CARB TO PRIMER SUCTION NIPPLE THEN. FROM PRIMER PRESSURE SIDE BACK TO TANK.so when you push it you can watch fuel squirt into tank everytime you push it and then you know it is sucking it through the carb and back to tank. hope I have explained this good enough to you good luck

Primer bubble is cracked.minimal fuel is getting to carburator. when it starts it will run a few seconds then cut off.Won't run except in full choke. Please Help

The primer bulb needs to be replaced. It is introducing air to the system and not allow fuel to flow. Replace it and check the fuel lines while you are at it.

How to hook up a carburator on a weedeater with a primer bulb

Typical fuel line routing2.gif is:

One line (the one with the fuel filter in the end of it) comes out of the fuel tank2.gif and goes to the bottom fitting on the carburator. The second line comes out of the tank and goes to the bottom fitting on the primer bulb. The third section of line goes from the top fitting on primer bulb to top fitting on the carburator. Hope this helped and best wishes.

The line with the fuel filter in the end comes out of the tank and it goes to the bottom fitting on the carburator. The other line comes out of the tank and goes to the bottom fitting on the primer bulb, and the third section goes from the top fitting on primer bulb to top fitting on carburator. Got it? lol Hope this helped and best wishes.

Will not run on open choke

HI,

I TALKED TO MY SISTER WHICH IS AN INSPECTOR FOR WEEDEATER COMPANY SHE TOLD ME IT HAS CLOGGED FUEL LINE OR THE TANK IS DIRTY. ALSO CHECK THE PRIMER BULB FOR HARDNESS OR CRACKING THIS ALSO CAN ALLOW A LEAN OUT CONDITION YOU ARE EXPERIENCING. EMPTY THE TANK AND WASH IT OUT WITH FRESH GASOLINE. SETTING FOR THE IDLE SCREW IS 1.5 TO 2 TURNS OUT WHEN TURNED OFF AND FULL THROTTLE SETTING IS HOLD THE THROTTLE WIDE OPEN AND TURN THE SCREW IN UNTIL MAXIMUM RPM IS ACHIEVED. HOPE THIS HELPS GOOD LUCK!

39cc McCulloch chain saw

The issue sounds just like a carburetor problem. I had a saw that did the same exact thing, and found that I hadn't been adjusting the carburetor properly for years. I managed to find the instructions on-line, and then it ran like a dream, just every time I store it, I have to go back through the motions again.

Let me know if you need adjustment guidance and I will see if I can dig up anything.
