How to install infinity kappa 63.5i speaker with an amp

Yeah, some more info would help, huh? The Blaupunkt amp has 175 rms to just the two Kappas. You may know that these Kappas have external crossovers. The Blaupunkt has interanal crossover of some type within the amp itself. I have power to amp. I was driving these Kappas with the factory amp along with component tweets(4 and two front door woofers). The Kappas replaced the rear door woofers. I did that about 4 years ago. I bought a new headunit, a Kenwood with an internal amp. I disconnected the rear door speaker leads from my wiring harness at the headunit. I bought it for the USB input it provides. So, I figured I would power the Kappas somewhat better at the same time. I am getting static of some type and I'm sure nowhere near the power the amp can provide to two speakers.

Are the internal amp crossovers and the external Kappa crossovers at odds with each other? I spliced three different sections of 8 and 10 gauge wire for the amp power wire. I soldered them and taped them. I will check that wire to see if 12v as getting to the amp. Anything else that would cause the underpowered and staticy sound the amp is providing the Kappas?

I fixed it. I checked the voltage at the battery, checked at the amp. They were equal. I turned the car on and the amp voltage dropped to about 9. I found a better ground and the voltage increased and the static went away.

one of those wires on your speakers is the common ground for both sets of wires in your camaro, Just take the negative wire from both sets of wires and run it to the single wire on your new speakers. The other 2 are positive from each wire. good luck

What is the button on the front of the 653.7i kappa series

The button you might be referring to is actually a little speaker. Its produces the high frequency sounds from that area.

If you look up infinity 3 way you will see 2 "buttons" in the front, smaller one is the high frequency sounds and the middle sized one is the mid frequency.

I just got the MRP-F300 amp installed today and the rear-left speaker completely stopped working shortly after the installed. There is no cracking, hissing, or any noise whatsoever coming from that...

not usualy if you were running them before without the amp the speaker could have still easily blown. with just the deck running the speakers you can clip the sound and damage the coils hook up and amp then you force the power through an already damaged speaker finishing it off try another speaker. or if it was bought used amp may be no good the previous owner probably noticed it cutting in and out and sold it before it fried. or the deck is old and yes it is a possibility the radio went bad. if you used cheap rca cables yes it could be bad as well.

You sold the subs, or sold the infinity kappas? After selling a sub system it is often more than disapointing to go back. It often does sound quiet. You can either deal with it for a couple months until you get used to it, or I'd go with a set of MB Quart to replace your kappas.

Car stereo crossovers

you should be able to remove the passive in-line crossover, but since it is blocking everything below 3500 hz, there is no need. leaving the passive crossover in place will also help protect the tweeters if something fails in your setup as any amped frequency below 3500 can seriously damage them.
