Back up from what you are photographing, and turn your flash off or onto auto. You do this by lightly tapping the little Lightening bolt in the lower right corner of the LCD screen and repeat as necessary until the yellow lightning bolt on the left side of the screen either has a red circle on it w/ a light through it (off) or a capitol A beside it (auto). I prefer auto, because I take most of my photos outdoors and it's hard to tell if a flash is necessary under a tree when its really sunny, or on a really cloudy day @ the beach...(sunny day in the shade-flash. Cloudy &rainy beach? No flash, not ever!) There is a problem w/ the cameras flash system though, you can set it on auto thinking that you can just click away & let the camera handle the flash like you can on most cameras, but the Vivitar almost always has to have the flash reset after every single photo, but then every once in a while it stays on the same setting all day long!

SOURCE: My camera is taking pics that are blurred, really

Try cleaning the battery compartment contacts with a cotton swab "dampened" in rubbing alcohol. Clean the battery and the charger the same way.

My Kodak Z650 is showing lines in bright photos????

Hi!
The shutter doesn't work - the leafs may be stuck or the shutter cable is broken. You should contact your local Kodak service center.

About half the pics I take are lousy - blurred, hazy. Any ideas? Kodak Support SUCKS. And, they cannot repair their own cameras - or properly refurbish the ones they pass out as replacements.

what pics are you taking? Are they indoor or outdoor pics?

Usually the higher the ISO, the grainer the pictures become.

IS0 is the camera's sensitivity to light.

Do pictures turn out lousy outdoors in daytime?

Blurred pictures

basically, dont use a video camera for still photos. All it does is freeze the frame when you "take the picture". This means any photots will be blurred. I am afraid your xmas pics are likely not repearable wothout a lot of time in photoshop.
Next year, ask for a still camera!
Sorry i cant be of more help

D50, blury pics

Blur can occur if the shutter speed is too low relative to the degree of movement of your subject(s). While the 'sports' mode favors shutter speed and adjusts the focus for moving subjects, you may still need to increase the ISO (I'm not sure the camera does that automatically), or use flash, if feasible.
Alternatively, try panning the camera with your moving subject. This should blur the background, but keep the subject from blurring.
Finally, keep in mind that in sports photography, blur is sometimes a desired outcome that produces a sense of motion in an otherwise static photo.

Hope that helps.

Action pics with a long lens

What you are experiencing is not blur, its camera shake. You are shooting in low light so the shutter speed is being reduced by the camera's automatic features. Also the longer the lens (the farther you zoom), the higher the shutter speed you need. Even for non moving objects or when panning the shutter speed should be at least one stop above the focal length. ie - 300mm lens = 500 or 1000 shutter AT LEAST! (and don't forget, if its a film lens on your rebel, thats actually 300mm x 1.6 =480mm, so 1000 shutter or higher min.) Moving objects require even faster shutters. Solutions: Get faster (also called brighter) lenses which can be pricey. In low light use higher iso settings in the camera menu. Shoot in either manual or Tv mode and choose the higher shutter speeds while using the light meter to decide aperture. Use wider angle lenses or back off the zoom and move closer. Stabilizers built into the lens can steady the shot by two to four times as well.
