Wont boot up.Turns itself off.

If you can startup in your bios start up with a linux live-cd/dvd or a usb pendrive if its booting correctly with linux then yoursystem havea problem to resolve by or the commercial lenovo software ?? but make use of a windows repair on the right driveletter a chkdsk command from microsoft software cd or from a hidden systemdrivepartition with a special command from Lenovo cd or a windows 7 tool command in a console use chkdsk /r chkdsk /u or chkdsk /p or other tools that you can anyway repair your boot.cfg or other tools.
If your pc was repaired change the boot priority to drive where your bootfile is on and is it booting again use allways a combofix program in any way over the disk to correct the system from heavy registery problems

Display only in safe mode

It is possible that your computer is not able to start up (normally), e.g. problem with your Windows XP, Windows 7, etc. ... e.g. you see a blinking cursor at the top left corner of your (blank) blue screen.
If this is the case, you can try to repair your disk first ... in save mode, get to a DOS prompt, i.e. >
You may see options/commands (at the DOS > prompt) by typing HELP. One of the programs that attempts to repair the disk is CHKDSK. Type at the > prompt: CHKDSK /? to see the options
Then, run the CHKDSK command to repair the boot disk.
After completing the chkdsk, type EXIT (to go back to Windows). If necessary, shut down and power up again and see if the boot disk has been repaired.
In the worst case, you may have to restore your disk from backup, or boot from a back-up (boot disk / CD) to fix the boot disk problem. But first try to save/store all your (personal) files (while in SAFE mode) before you reformat the disk and re-install the operating system (from an installation / boot CD disk)

Windows 7 will not start

First you need to try safe mode and check if you are able to boot to the system....
If not then ...

Note this issue is caused due to the boot file corruption and in order to troubleshoot this issue we will run chkdsk from Win RE (Windows Recovery Environment )mode and check for the issue, to do that follow the below steps.

To run check disk, you have to have Windows 7 DVD, boot the computer to Win RE from the elevated command prompt, and try to do a CHKDSK. You can follow these steps to run CHKDSK :

1) Use the Windows 7 DVD to start the computer in Windows Recovery (WinRE).

2) In WinRE, open a command prompt. To do this, follow these steps:

On the Install Windows screen, select the appropriate Language to install, Time and

currency format, and Keyboard or input method options, and then click Next.

3) Click Repair your computer.

4) Click the 7 installation that you want to repair, and then click Next.

5) Click Command Prompt.

At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

chkdsk drive: /f and chkdsk drive: /r

Chkdsk utility

yes you need bootable winxp disk or recovery disk.
Then boot your computer with that disk.
For that first put that disk in your cd or dvd rom.
Then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del' key then you can enter in bios.
Then go to boot option then set first boot device as your cd or dvd rom then save settings and exit.
Then it boot with disk.
then follow the procedure then choose "r" for recovery console then type in prompt "chkdsk /r"
Then press "y"
then it fix error on harddisk.
Thats it.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
