Il tell you this much i have one of them and i put it on a 7.62 full bore rifle,,,thats got a kick like a horse too! its quite happy sat on this rifle,,,(with over 500 rounds put through it so far) it did fall off though! my fault that was,,,i never bib it up tight? an air rifle has a far more damaging recoil than a full bore rifle has??? its true!
the russian gear may look cheep but its built like a brick sh*t house
and will take all the recoil you can throw at it,,
il take a bet with you,,,your shoulder will give up first before the russian nv gives up,,,,wont to pay me now???? you just lost!

What size rings do i need for this scope

Choosing scope rings involves the following considerations:
1. Get the right diameter. Most scopes are 1.00" in diameter, but not all of them. Measure your scope tube.

2. Mount the scope as close to the barrel as is practical. The closer the axis of the scope is to the axis of the bore, the less error is introduced by canting the rifle.

3. You must have proper eye relief. If you are shooting a high-power rifle, you need at least a couple inches between your face the the end of the scope to allow for recoil. This is less important for low recoil calibers. You must also be able to position the scope so that you get a full field of view when you mount it to your shoulder to shoot. Some rifles, like Ruger #1's are tricky to get right due to the shape of the action. Some rings are offset to provide additional adjustment room.

What should I zero my scope at when shooting my 7mm savage with 175g remmington core-locts?

Depends on how far you intend to shoot. Most zero their rifles at 100 yards, but if you intend to hunt plains game, you might want to use 200 or so.

I got in a tight spot needing a scope last season. I was very short on cash so i bought a 3-9x 50mm cheap Tasco . I sighted it in at 100 yards. I missed the first deer . Two hours later I shot high on...

well one day you may lurn that cheap is cheap! and tasco is rubbish cheap! i would say without dought the cross hair in the scope has shaken apart,,,due to recoil,,,a 30-06 has a big recoil
try holding the rifle stock on your jaw and firing the rifle off?
when or if,, you wake up in hospital with a shaterd jaw and with no teeth left in it you will know then! and cheap tasco scope is an air rifle scope it cant take 2500ft/lbs of recoil???
so it wont take much of a kick to mess it up,,
i put one on a 303 enfield??? i got 3 shots before it fell to bits!
if your going to buy cheap scope's go for nicon gold crown?

Using the scope

Well if it was a rifle, I would say far away, or you will get a black eye. But the recoil on a pellet rifle is backwards because the spring jerks the rifle forward, and it messes with rifle scopes, they are made to recoil back, But,,, you have a movable eyepiece in the end where you look through and it will make the cross hairs come into focus for your eyes. some one else might find them blurry. The objective lens, should be in focus no matter what. It doesn't move. and no matter what your vision is, you should be able to see clearly. If not, I'm wondering if it is fogged up. Your eye should be about 3inches, + -, Check it out. Hope this helps.

The magnification adjustment ring on my Gamo Whisper worked fine at first, then was stuck between 3X and 5X. Now it is free again but the scope is not focused on the 3X and 9X settings, but is clear on 5X...

I'm not familiar with the scope, is it an air rifle scope? One stroke type? If not, the backwards recoil of the air rifle is tough on a normal scope, they aren't made for that type of abuse. They work fine with a normal recoil. That is why they started making air rifle scopes. I'm sure that the internals of your scope are damaged somewhat, you can take off the eyepiece no problem, you might find something in there, loose screw, missing screw, you never know, don't get too carried away with the dis-assembly, you'll never get it back together. It sounds like the magnification ring is messing with the focus of the eyepiece. Might just need some oil. Hope this helps.

K98 scope

K98's were fitted with a Hensoldt ZF4 or ZF6 if you want a WW2 purist type of rifle. Hensoldt are part of Zeiss. Zeiss market their military scopes and binoculars under the hensoldt name. You can pick these up second hand for around 500 US Dollars.

If you are fitting a scope for shooting purposes, one with variable magnification is a good choice but you won't need a higher power than 10. Non variable a 6 power is more than adequate for the K98. Leupold have a wonderful range of tried and tested scopes in various price ranges. If you don't mind spending more than a thousand dollars on a scope Schmidt and Bender make magnificent scopes, some of which you will find attached to US Military sniper rifles.

There is a lot of choice with a lot of difference in price. Too cheap a scope will not be able to handle the recoil of the K98 and you will find yourself constantly adjusting it.

AEG triweaver rifle scope 3-9x40 can be combatible on my air gun DIANA 52 model with very big recoil?

If it fits the rail, it'll work, just make sure to adjust the scope to absorb the recoil, by target practice at about 60-80 ft, and adjusting the scope up or down until it absorbs the motion of the recoil. Hope that helps!

New leupold scope

You may need to purchase a base with a built in taper to help zero your scope. Look for "20 MOA scope base" if interested in purchasing. Go Here:

for a discussion and info that may help.
