Question about GE Nautilus 24" Built-in Dishwasher

GE Nautilus built-in dishwasher suddenly won't spray

Our diswasher (about 6 years old) just plain quit working this morning. The first few times I tried to start it this morning I could hear something filling with water, but the inside remained dry and the sprayer didn't spin. That happened twice. After that I didn't hear water anymore, but as I turn the knob through the various positions (start, short wash, rinse only, plate warmer) I hear the dishwasher making a clicking sound and kind of a "thump," but nothing happens. The circuit breaker hasn't been tripped. Nothing obvious is presenting itself.

The dishwasher has been occassionally leaking a bit from underneath during the drain cycle, but it isn't constant and has been happening for a few months (I know, I should've done something about that sooner!). I mention it in case it's related to this new problem.

I'm pretty unfamiliar with diswashers so any help would be welcome!

HELLO MY GE Nautilus 24" Built-in Dishwasher sounds like it is working but there is no water spraying when the wASH cycle is iniciated any suggestions are appreciated

Hi, W/D here.
Check to see if the spray arms might be clogged. Look at each nozzle and slot. If you can remove them and clean over the sink. Back washing with the faucet, and opening the holes with a toothpick should free them up. That would be a good first step.

Nautilus diswasher is sending water out through the "overflow"? next to the sink, flooding the kitchen.

You must have a clog in the drain line. If it is ran to your garbage disposal then that is the first place to check.

Won't work...smells like somethings burning....6 yrs old

Unplug unit or turn breaker off. Under unit is a silver box, remove screws to check that all wires are attached securely to unit from plug, and confirm belt is intact.

Recently glasses started to finish foggy and

MOST OF THE TIME "FOGGY GLASS" IS A RESULT OF SOAP BUILD UO IN THE DISHWASHER. IF YOU HAVE A WATER SOFTENER AND FILL THE SOAP CUP ALL THE WAY THEN THIS IS THE CASE. FILL A COFFEE CUP WITH WHITE VINEGAR AND PLACE IT ON THE UPPER RACK, RUN AN EMPTY LOAD ON HEAVY DUTY WASH, THIS WILL STOP THE PROBLEM, YOU MIGHT NEED TO REPEAT IT 2-3 TIMES BUT IT WILL WORK, AFTER THAT JUST USE AS LITTLE SOAP AS YOU CAN, IN MY GE I USE POWDERED CASCADE BUT ONLY FILL THE SOAP CUO TO THE BOTTOM LINE, WORKS GREAT. GOOD LUCK

Sounds like you need a new timer. Costs about $50 - $60. I had the same problem. The knob now turns. Hope this helps.

2 year old GE Nautilus dishwasher

Check the pump, make sure it is working properly and pumping water out. If it is then check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged.

Leaking from the front ?

Hello Kathy J...

It sounds as if you want reassurance that you should replace your dishwasher.. The costs associated with replacing the racks themselves and the gasket on the door ( depending on who does it) might justify the purchase of a replacement model.. Plus newer models are more energy efficient that the older ones.. 7 years of use is a fairly long time so you've gotten your money out of it... I always use this litmus test to validate the purchase.. if the cost to repair is close to or exceeds the cost to replace, then replacement makes sense.. Very subjective indeed.. hope you make the right choice.. :-)

GE dishwasher GSD2200G00WW dishes not clean

Make sure the spray arm is actually rotating and the jets aren't clogged. You should be able to hear the arm rotating when the dishwasher is operating.

Otherwise, perhaps the pump is plugged or not working and the water isn't "jetting"
