Question about Whirlpool SB160PEE Gas Single Oven
The control panel on my Whirlpool gas oven has stopped working. It worked yesterday just fine. The panel is not locked, because none of the buttons work and the display only shows the clock...no "lock" text or symbol. The clock is still running perfectly, but cannot be adjusted. I have flipped the breakers to see if I could simply reset it. That did not work either. Also, the gas cooktop works fine. No problems with it. Could this just be a dead panel? It is only 5 years old. Any ideas?
Hi. your assessment is correct. when you have normal operations with the stove top and the control panel is blank or non operational, this will confirm either a wiring harness issue or a dead controlcircuit board. The wiring harness can sometimes become lose or the connectors can become corroded but, in this issue, i am sure its the ECB(electroninc control board). In this case, you will have to replace the board it self.
Good luck , hope this helpout..
