Question about Bose Companion II Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Plugged Bose speakers into HP Pavillion Desktop. Tried to adjust sound and 3/4 full volumecould only get what sounded like radio station coming from speakers (barely audible). Checked sound settings to make sure not on mute. Unplugged Bose and replugged HP external USB speakers and they didn't work. Now there is no sound at all coming from the computer even with the internal speakers.

The problem has to be at the sliders (the faders) at the volume mixer for your audio device. Open the mixer (double click on the speaker icon at your taskbar) and get all the way up the sliders for WAVE and MASTE. Of course check for not any of them being muted. In some cases the jack on the laptop makes glitches so plugin and out several times a jack in order to avoid any case like this.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

I just bought Bose Companion 2 speakers which I don't know how to connect to my HP Pavillion desktop PC. The pdf instruction booklet does not help. There are multiple jacks (6) at the back of the tower...

You need to connect the speakers to the green jack in your PC.

Check your system sound volume setting to make sure it's not set to MUTE or the volume slider is on or near the lowest position - you don't specify what system you have on the PC so I can't give you an exact pointer but Volume Control generally is found under Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment.

We recently purchased a boat that has a bose system but we cannot get sound through the speakers. Appears to be in standby mode. How do we get it off standby mode.

Hi, after rigorous investigation at the Bose website the best answer I could come up with is that bose says to touch the " top center of the control pod "-main unit? It goes into a muted mode when plugged in or when headphones are inserted. Also apparently when unit is plugged in and powered on you must hit a " source " button on remote ie.: radio-dvd-tv etc.. the full manual is also available to view or download from Bose's website Bose.com, I hope this was useful, and thank you for asking FixYa, good luck-Prodzilla.

Problem hooking up bose speakers

mcdevito75 here, The HP speakers that came with your computer work fine, the bose speakers work fine on your other computer, the plug on the Bose speakers is a little shorter than the HP speakers, and only the right Boss speaker is working, HMM, Check the Bose speakers, both of them for a volume control 1 of them may need adjustment on this particular computer. If that"s not it, I would speak to a Radio Shack, Staples etc.

Bose Wave Radio/CD - Sound from only one speaker

Sounds like the audio transformer, but it's difficult to tell because Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively giving them a monopoly on repair of these sets. On their web site, www.bose.com, they offer to repair most Wave sets for $100 or give $200 credit towards the purchase of a new Wave. Before you spend the big bucks though, you might want to check out the new HD radios. Better sound and MUCH lower prices than the Bose.
