Casio TE-2400 Cash Register- Keyboard Orientation

I recently purchased a second hand Casio TE-2400 cash register. As I am trying to programme it myself i have come across the following problems:

1. The Keyboard Orientation: Department 1 occupies PLU 7 & 14, Department 2 occupies PLU 6 & 13 and so on and sofort. How can I access the PLU's occupied by departments when making transactions and how do I LINK PLU's to Departments eg. PLU 1 = Mineral Water, PLU 2= Cola, PLU 3= Juice etc. all to be linked to Department 1 which are DRINKS.

2. Why is it that when I press the "NS" (no sale) button, the drawer does not open? Which it is suppose to i.e to open the drawer without carrying out a transaction.

3. Why is it that I am only getting the tax on the subtotal on the receipt after a transaction without the tax breakdown for each product even though i have followed the steps as listed in the users manual i.e that i press the "VAT" button to force printing of the VAT breakdown

4. What is the difference in application between "Add-in tax" & "Add-on tax", as mentioned in the users manual?

If you can please assist me with my difficulties, please post me back a reply. Many thanks.

Hi. The previous owner just had PLUs linked to the depts that suited them. to link PLUs to depts,
Turn key to Program mode.
3 SUBTOTAL
1166 SUBTOTAL
Now type the PLU number you want to link. E.g if you want to link PLU 6, then press 6 on the number pad (don't press the actual PLU, just type its number on the number pad)
Now press the button marked PLU. It should be near the other function buttons.
Now type the department number to link to. Use two digits. E.g to link to dept 5, type 05 on the number pad.
Press CASH
Press SUBTOTAL
As for NO SALE button, does it actually show the command NO SALE, or NS on the display when you press it? It may have been removed from the keyboard. Does the drawer open when you finish a sale normally?
There is normally a setting in key features for VAT breakdown on the CASH button. Make sure this is set so that it prints the breakdown. Add on means you sell at a tax exclusive price and the tax is added on to that by the register. Add in means you sell at a tax inclusive price and want the register to show how much of it was tax.
Hope this helps. See how you get on.

Is there a cash register that will download directly to MS Excel? We are looking for a fairly simple cash register for a small business. Would like it to download to excel, not Quickbooks! We don't want to...

This site has a cash register that can do that:

http://www.cashregisterstore.com/

The Casio TE-2200
and the Casio TE-2400

You save backups and then can be loaded into Excel, this is the closest I have been able to find.
