Question about Jamo E 470 Speaker

Open Question

JAMO E470 speaker problem

Ok so i have 2 jamo e470 speakers, and in one of them one of the speakers(the biggest one) is making unpleasant cracking sound. I found out that the noises are coming out of the membrane, so I opened the box of the whole speaker and took out the biggest one to see if something is disconnected or plugged improperly, or even damaged. But i cant see any problems with one of these. So im asking if you could tell me what could be the problem with this annoying sounds coming out of this speaker? Its like boiling water or the membrane is making unwanted contact with something inside the speaker. So what could be the problem and is it something serious?

The jamo sub is a fine buy but also look at subs from REL as they can hit hard when needed and are great for music. Now on to your amp, look round the back and you should find a socket marked sub pre out, plug a sub or phono lead into this and then into the input on the sub, this could be marked in or line in,turn up the volume or gain on the sub and also make sure you have the sub turned on in the speaker settings in your amp.

Hope this helps.

If the subwoofer has its own power cord seperate from the rest of the audio system, the internal amplifier could be fried or u have a loose connection inside the box

Use the PRE-OUT SW (subwoofer) output and connect it to the left RCA socket of your subwoofer.

Why won't my a102 speakers from jamo witch came

The Jamo speakers need an AV Receiver to drive them properly. The TV doesn't have the correct outputs nor does it have the power required.

The Jamo kit consists of a powered subwoofer ans 5 small surround speakers. Each surround speaker needs to be powered by the speaker output from an an AV Receiver. The subwoofer should also be connected to the receiver, but the connection is a phono/RCA lead from the receiver's "Sub Out" socket.

Your TV connects to the AV receiver via the Optical out.

I have a jamo 200 sub and jamo s602 speaker how do i wire so i can listen to music from my ipad to the speakers

the easiest solution is to get yourself a cord that switches from headphone plug to RCA and connect it that way. I sure hope that this helps you in hooking your ipad up to the Jamo 200 Sub. Thanks, Cody

I have a Jamo S606 and a Onkyo SRtx 608 how can i get the best output from my speakers???

That is a subjective question. Set it/them up in accordance with the manuals and you will achieve something close to the best they are capable of (*).

* If you're looking at those jumpers on the back, leave them alone and read up on the myth of biwiring (buy-wiring).

My e470 main speaker on the front speake does not work. Ive checked the wiring and memenbrane al all is in order. Does it mean the speake \r is blown. Can I have it repaired or buy a new speaker if so...

It's not clear what BRAND of speaker we're talking about here. If it's JAMO...

It IS bi-amp capable. Is the jumper in place?

You could disconnect the jumper and measure its resistance of the main speaker with an ohmmeter, dead short or open is a dead speaker. Something around its specified impedance would be normal. Take a small battery and just briefly touch the speaker leads. It should make a static-like sound. If it DOES, go back to the wiring checkout.
