If you have never opened that type of file on that PC you will need to tell the PC what program it needs to Open it.
Right click on the file and choose "Open with"
Choose the browser you use to go on the internet, so IE, Firefox, Chrome or whatever.
Make sure the little box is ticked so it always uses the same program.
You should now be able to open those files

Website show index.htm it should be index.html

Do you need both files for that website to run? Because you can just delete index.htm and rename your index.html to index.htm.

But if you need the system to recognize index.html as your default page, you can ask your web administrator to do it for you in IIS.

If you are running using linux, you can do the .htaccess trick.

Open a notepad and type below:

DirectoryIndex index.html

And then save it as ".htaccess" (with no file extensions)

Autorun.inf doesn't open file in internet browser

Hello ksharp628,

I use a program called autorun.exe One limitation of the standard AutoRun facility is the fact that it will only run executable programs; it will not by itself open document files such as web pages or text files. AutoRun.exe is designed to circumvent this restriction: it will open any number of document files or start executable programs. Moreover, it is smart enough to use a sensible fall-back strategy if no documents can be opened, perhaps because the target system does not have the required support for those document types.

example of my autorun.inf
[autorun]
open=autorun.exe msn.html
action=Run MSN.com
icon=msn.ico

in root of thumb drive I have Autorun.exe Autorun.inf MSN.html and my ICON msn.ico wich i did a search for on my computer

I hade t make and msn.html

my edited msn.html file open in txt format
<meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" content="0; url=http://www.msn.com">

You can replace with what ever website you want and rename it to that.

This autrun.inf setup will popup the autrun box and ask you pick an option. this is as close to running the webpage when inserting the usb drive. The program comes with a .pdf on many options wich can be used with autorun.exe.

the link to the autrun.exe program is found below.

Hope this helps you, take care.

Opening of .dxr files - reg

You will want to use Shockwave player to view these movies. They are protected movies that do not have the code embedded for editing. These are created using Director MX, which can be purchased from Adobe.

Add Background Sound to an Email in Outlook

To add background sound to an email in Outlook:

  • Create a new message using HTML formatting in Outlook.
  • Download the following file to your Desktop: zbgsound.htm.
  • Start Notepad.
  • Open the zbgsound.htm file you just downloaded in Notepad.
  • Replace ###path to background sound file### with the path to the desired background sound file.
    • The line could read <img src="C:\Documents and Settings\lsdoe\My Documents\My Music\lsdoem.mid" id="bgsound", for example.
  • Select File | Save from the menu.
  • In the Outlook message, select Insert | File... from the menu.
  • Go to your Desktop.
  • Highlight zbgsound.htm.
  • Click on the right down arrow of the Insert button.
  • Select Insert as Text.
  • Continue editing your message.

I hop that helped, it looks complicated buts its not. Basically if you know how html works your email allows html you just put the html code for teh music in it.

Good luck,
Cam
