Question about Whirlpool Dryers
I get burn marks on my clothes. How can I solve this problem? Dryer is Whirlpool mod #LEC8611LW8
Those are most probably not burn marks but rather stains, usually rust, due to a worn felt seal. The clothes get in contact with the metal surface of the cabinet when any of the front or rear drum felt seal gets worn. If that is the case, replacing the felt seals will address the issue.
Replace both the high-limit thermostat, thermal cut-off, cycling thermostat, and/or the thermistor if the marks are indeed burn marks. Check also to make sure that the vent duct is clear and the vent flap is fully open when the dryer is in operation.
