Turn both jet screws CW to stops (lightly), then back out CCW 1-1/2 turns each. This is a basic setting which should allow the engine to start and run. Before adjusting anything, check the fuel filter, air filter and muffler for plugging. Start the engine and allow to warm up. Pull the throttle full on and adjust H needle CW until the engine begins to speed up, but still 4-stroking. Correct adjustment is when the engine 4-strokes running free, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Release the throttle and adjust L needle CW for better idle, yet allows the engine to 'follow the throttle'. Adjust idle speed so that the chain stops turning, but the engine continues to idle. Hope this helps!

How do you adjust and which screw is the Idle air mixture screw?

The idle screw is the largest of the three and will generally have spring on it and it will be above the low and high adjusting screws. Turn the idle screw clockwise to increase idle speed. But before you do that, adjust the low and high settings to one full turn out.

What is the factory setting for lowand high screws on 25cc craftsman blower

If the two screws are side by side, one is the high speed mixture screw and the other is the low speed mixture screw. To set the high and low adjustment screws, tighten the screws in until they stop, don't force the screw after it stops. Back each screw out 1 1/2 turns. The engine will start and run here if everything else is ok. Fine tune each adjustment screw by closing the screw off (CW) until the engine runs rough. Back the screw out (CCW) until the engine smooths out. Run the engine at full speed and adjust the high screw. Let off the trigger and adjust the low screw. Once the mixture screws are adjusted, you can turn the idle screw to adjust the idle speed. It can take some time getting it all adjusted.

Need to tune sthil fs74 line trimmer

Hi chris tanti
Before you remove or try to adjust your low and high speed jets you should always count the number of turns it takes to lightly seat the idle mixture screw and high speed needle adjusting screws.
Be sure to write the number of turns down on a piece of paper so you will know how many turns from the seated position to open the jets when you go to reinstall them, or if you remove them for cleaning or replacement.
If you have aready tried to adjust them then the adjustments below should get it running for you for final adjustment when warm.
Normally you will adjust your idle jet to 1/2-3/4 turn open from the bottom seated position.
Then you will re-adjust the low speed of the engine when the engine is warm by turning the idle screw in or out till the engine runs smoothly at idle speed, around 1200 RPM.
The high speed jet is adjusted to 1 1/2- 1 3/4 open from the bottom seated position, after the engine is warm.
Then re-adjusted by turning the High Speed jet adjustment screw in or out till the motor runs smoothly at high speed.
Alway use the "lightly seated" method if you have not changed the screw settings.

Need to know best way to adjust carb to get maximum performance on my homelite XL12

Regarding the adjustment procedure you generally start your low and high mixture screws at one turn from seat, or slowly turn them in all the way until they bottom out and then back them out one full turn. You will adjust the high speed mixture screw at full throttle and get the median point between too rich (loads up) and too lean (dies out). You will want to do the same thing with the idle mixture screw, just adjust at idle rpm. You will also adjust the low idle mixture screw to give you a smooth transition from idle to throttle up. Once this is obtained, you adjust the third or idle speed screw low enough so the chain does not turn at idle rpm but high enough so the saw doesn't cut off. Hope this gets you going.

Engine dies upon acceleration after starting and idling

turn the high speed and low speed mixture screws right in[gently]then out 2.5 turns.start it up,screw the idle screw up till it will idle, then adjust low speed mixture screw in or out so you get the highest idle.keep lowering the idle so as you adjust the screw,it wont get it any higher in revs.so by now it should idle.next, open the throttle wide, and adjust the high speed screw until you get maximum revs..then,turn screw 1/4 turn out.that makes it slightly richer, cooling the plug with droplets of petrol.you dont want it lean.if it wont rev fully, check the fuel filter.they get dirty quite often

On the husqvarna se266 carborater, what is the low and high screw settings or how many turns is the screws supposed to be at?

Initial setting for a Husqvarna; "H" and "L" screws at 1 turn CCW form lightly seated. Then tune for performance like this:
Carburetor Adjustment by Madsens.com
http://www.madsens1.com/saw%20carb%20tune.htm
CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.
Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.

There are 2 wav (sound - idle & full – may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too. HTH

I relpaced the fuel lines on my Mccullough Eager ****** leaf blow

ok then these are the low and high speed adjusting screws. first make sure the spark plug is clean of buildup or new . what you need to do is first try to get it to idle with the low adj screw. now im not sure which ones which so try one and if it makes no difference during idle then try the other. start it if it dies turn the screw , repeat this until you get the right sound and steady idle.once you figure out the low screw trun it all the way clockwise then turn it counter about 2 turns. then tune the idle from here. you want it to have a steady sounding idle. now the idle sounds good use the high screw to adjust the throttle. give it about half throttle and turn the high screw until it sounds steady here. then go to full throttle and turn high screw until it sounds steady here. now it should sound steady at idle and throttle. and try not to trun the screws more than 1/8 to 1/4 turn at a time, especially the high, you dont want to blow it up. lemme know how it goes
