I just purchased my microwave and 1st time cooking was luke warm, now it doesn't heat at all. the turntable is also sluggish acting. everything else seems to work. My microwave series is actually MV 1502 if that makes a difference.

actually, once I found the wiring diagram, I was able to determine that there was a loose wire connection at the upper door switch and it caused the switch to fail. I repalced the switch for about $10 and it is working just fine again.

Hi LMGreen! Sorry for the late response a bit busy at work.. Coming back to the problem..
Solder joints on power control board are cracked and/or burned. Inspect solder connections on power control board for deterioration. This usually occurs where the harness connector is mounted to the circuit board. Reinforce and re-solder as necessary. Also check all other solder joints.

I have an old Goldstar microwave (MV1140T) that just stopped heating. The fan still works but the food won't heat up. What can I do?

The problem is caused by a bad magnetron, "common problem" or the high voltage capacitor and diode, all three work together to heat the food. The repair cost for parts and labor will be high enough to consider buying a new microwave oven.

Goldstar GMV1540TB Microwave is not heating. Timer works but the tray is not rotating. If pushing the door up the oven can heat but easy to stop heating.

No power but outlet is functioning properly

There is a ceramic fuse inside the oven. Remove the case and follow the cord from the back of the oven to the fuse. Replace with on of the same amp size.

Lights, fan,etc work but turntable does not rotate and oven does not cook.

Sounds like the table motor may have an issue. You might want to consult you local repair depot for an estimate. Sometimes the repairs are more than the appliance...beware!

Goldstar Microwave

Could be the relay, an internal fuse. With the power off, open up the key panel and search for a fuse. Also, there are thermo sensors black, diameter of a dime and 3/8 inch thick with two wires. Check the fuse and replace if necessary. The thermo can be jumped out to test. Remove the wires, use a paper clip between them and tape it up. Briefly turn the unit on. Replace if it works now. The thermo is generally clamped to the wall of the oven behind the key panel. Never run without the thermo sensor.
