Question about Miele CVA2660 Stainless Steel Coffee Maker
This is a two part answer.
1) de-secaling is need every 6 months on capsule coffee maker.
More frequent if you water supply has a lot of calcium or magnesium.
In-line water filter will help reduce the need of cleaning.
Pre-filter the water in Brita or similar will also work.
You may also use cap full of vinegar and HOT water to de-scaling.
Melt the decaling tab is HOT water and start a brew cycle.
2) Fault code 72
What if F 72 shows?
A coffee capsule has jammed above
the waste unit.
^ Open the appliance door.
^ Remove, empty and return the waste
^ Close the door.
^ If the message still shows, see

Clean the appliance door
Pay attention to the steam lever handle.
When it's jammed you has to gently push the steam lever FULL DOWN and UP to open the appliance door.
The steam lever is the weakest part of the whole unlt.
It fault code 72 and jamming daily you should inspect the steam lever or call Meile at 800-843-7231 to order a steam lever.
