Use 1/2 cup white vinegar in 1 quart water. No need to let it sit. After descaling, remember to run at least 3 cycles with clean water to remove any vinegar.

B70 does not brew,it says to descale

It may be clogged up with hard water scale. Fill the reservoir with white vinegar. Place an empty coffee mug in the unit and continue to run vinegar through it until the reservoir is empty enough that it is asking you to add more water. Leave the unit alone and let the vinegar stand in the unit for 8-12 hours. Fill the reservoir with water and run water through the device (you might want to do this several times in order to make sure the vinegar is completely gone).

Also check to make sure that the piercing unit is not clogged with coffee grounds.

Hope this helps.

Can you reuse vinegar fpr descaling purposes

Yes, if the vinegar has not been diluted. If you have used neat, undiluted vinegar then it can be decanted into a bottle or jar and used again to descale.

Not enough water making it from holding tank to dispensing cup

your machine is "Short Cupping"

It needs to be descaled. Even though the descale light might not be on yet, the descale light only comes on when it is in SERIOUS need of a descaling. You should descale once every 3 months.

Fill reservoir with distilled white vinegar and leave the machine on for 4 hours (make sure to turn off the auto off option).

after 4 hours, run the vinegar through the machine until the reservoir is empty. Refill with water and repeat twice. you will notice a difference right when you start running vinegar through.

I have a solis 5000 coffee maker and would like to descale. the users manual says never use vinegar as it will harn the machine. It recomends a product called SOLIPOL, is there another product that you...

Starbucks used to carry a descaling product for their machines. Yes don't use vinegar because it is only 5% before you dilute it. It also leaves a taste for about 2 weeks that will affect the taste of your coffee. You can use Citric acid. 1 tablespoon per 32 oz of water. Use at least 2 table spoons. Dissolve the descaling solution so there are no crystals left. Now.
Turn the machine off and then push and hold the 2 buttons at the same time. While holding them down, turn the machine on.
Release the buttons and turn the dial counter clockwise till it stops.
This will keep the machine from heating.
If you push the steam button the pump will activate.
Open the steam knob. Run 8 oz through the wand and rekease the button. Let it set for 10 minutes, then open the knob again. Repeat until the tank is empty. Rinse with a whole tank of fresh water and your done.
If you have the Digital there is a program in the menu for descaling. There is also a program for resetting the descal mode so it will tell you the next time it need to be done. Chose yes and push the enter button. Also change your water hardness to 4. Descale more often than not enough.

What is the dilution of vinegar to descale my machine

Hello bpplums,
When cleaning your units system you need to use a 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar solution. Run two fresh vinegar solutions through if its been a while sense the last cleaning. Then run through a couple pots of fresh water to rinse. You should be good to go. Hope this helps!
Positive feedback is appreciated. Kind regards, NormanZ
