Just installed a zinwell 4x8 multi switch - have an oval 18x20 3 lnb antenna - needed 5 to receiver leads -- have it installed and seems to
be working fine -- all receivers working fine - just don't know if the multi-
switch is supposed to heat up ???
What Temp is it at?, it does heat up, and it does require room to be well vented, now remember it needs a protected area, where nothing will make contact, where that will start a fire, or Burning sensation.

I think what you might have there is either a wifi antenna that plugs into a router to boost the signal or it's a tv aerial. The plug is not too clear in the video. If it's a wifi antenna then it will likely be an "sma" connector and if it's a tv aerial then it will be a coax connector.
It sounds like either the xp driver isn;t the correct one or it is defaulting to a lower speed. You may need to go to the laptop support and download the drivers. XP will try to use its own drivers and sometimes they are not as good as the OEM ones.
As well you will get lower speeds if your antenna is blocked or the laptop is farther away.
You need to use a sonicview splitter and then go into your settings and select proper ports. If you have 2 wires comming from i duel lnb or 2 stats then you install then in the splitter then one wire into your reciever.then you scan the sats on the ports you have them hooked on to. example echostar110 port 1 also tp setting is 12258 Then echostar119 port 2 also tp setting is 12239 then scan. Scan on autoscan. hope i helped :)
You'll need to obtain a comms lead - connects into the console port of the switch then into an RS232 port on your laptop. Then, you will be able to connect using hyper terminal and you can give the switch an IP address, username, etc. Even a hard-reset won't allow you to configure an IP address as by default it needs to be configured through the lead. Will they not talk without being configured? If you just hard reset them, they should just behave as unmanaged switches.
