What Temp is it at?, it does heat up, and it does require room to be well vented, now remember it needs a protected area, where nothing will make contact, where that will start a fire, or Burning sensation.

Humax free receiver only give horizontal not vertical polarity

change your LNB, this has 2 small antenna's inside. If the receiver only receives one and not the other, the Lnb is more then likely the culprit in the setup.

What are Philips universal romote codes for Zinwell STB?

Your Philips URC has a CODESEARCH feature you can use to find something that will handle some or all functions of your Zinwell STB. If a search through all codes stored in the remote fails, you may have to try a different URC. Not all URCs store all possible codes.

David.
Are you using the same output from the LNB on your sky dish?
ie one cable??.
If you are it will not work you need to use a seperate output,
if you cant do this, you will need to change the LNB to a multi output one.
By the way there is 30 volts present all the time from your receiver to your LNB, that is even while switched off.

Dish 722 not acquiring signal on boot up. must disconnect antenna cable and reconnet then works fine. Dish Tech support is useless and my contract is up in 1 month, so I am considering canceling. Any

If you can monitor the supply to the LNB, you may find it is low, unplugging it when the decoder is powered up allows for more power. I would change the power supply capacitors if more than a couple of years old.

Hi mfpayton with the install of the brand new receiver wealways want to make sure all connections are tight. And after all connectionsare hand tight we will need to run the Check Switch Test. It will provide thestrongest signal to your home and you will see the signal move up into the 65percent range. If after the Check Switch Test it still is a low signal we mayneed to check the connections from the Dish and LNB that is an issue we wouldneed to come out on. I will leave the link to show you how to do the CST.http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/complete-sig-loss

I have an exisitng sat that works fine. I bought a 2nd receiver,a dual lnb and a multi switch.Where exactly is the dual lnb installed?

The Dual LNB goes at the Antenna, it "Replaces" the existing one. It Must be aligned EXACTLY right, NOTE the "OLD" ones Placement. the "Switch" wich is a sort of two in One, goes as close to that as practicable... to the Dual LNB, Then through software when setting up you select the "Switch" and then you can control access to either sat. It is a bit of a "Mission" sometimes.. You will have to be very methodical and check all connections etc. I include a link that will help you. http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/lnb.htm

No the 2 receiver must be set. The supply going to LNB must switched off letting only one Freeview receiver supply to LNB is "ON". Meaning the one that give supply to LNB is the master receiver if you sw. it OFF the remaining2 can't receive programme.

Set Up for DVR

Hello: If you have only one incoming cable, just hook it up on SAT 1. What happens is that you will only be able to record what you're watching. If you want two incoming cables, just change the LNB to a dual LNB if you have a round dish. If you have an oval dish, most likely has a multiswitch LNB, so all you need to do is hook up another cable to that LNB and run it to the receiver and put it on SAT 2.
This way, you can watch one program and record another program on a dif. channel at the same time. Either way, you need to take out the LNB from the dish for one or the other option. It's best to contact your service provider and get a tech, to do the changes. It's not costly.
