Question about Washing Machines
Posted by Anonymous on
The manufacture date is determined by the SERIAL NUMBER on the appliance. The following link explains how to determine this on a Whirlpool manufactured washer:
The second digit in the serial number determines the YEAR it was manufactured. The first two numbers following the second digit identifies the WEEK (52 weeks in a year).
I have personally worked on these model washers and they are reliable. The average lif expectancy is 15 years on most appliances, but some I have found to be 20 years old and higher. They are a simple desgin and easy to work on for consumers or repair technicians. Replacement parts are also fairly inexpensive for most common failures. If you need further assistance, please post back and explain what symptoms you have. I hope you find this information helpful.
