Turn your fan from auto to on at thermostat, fan should come on. If
you still get the (AC) and fan does not come on, change the batteries at the thermostat if they have them..

To see if thermostat is bad, do this.
1) Turn power off to Furnace/AirHandler.
2) Remve Bowler Door and find where thermostat wires connect to control board. Remove wires and write down which terminal they go
to.

3)Take a wire and hook-up between R and Y. Put door back on, turn power on. Fan should come on and AC should come on.

Find the actual temperature at the thermostat from my cell phone?

You don't say what kind of phone you have, but assuming it's an Android or Apple smartphone, you should understand a few things. First, your phone won't read outside temperatures by itself. You can use weather apps that download reports from local weather towers in your area, but these won't tell you how warm your home is.

How can you measure the actual temperature in your environment? You can purchase an sensor attachment that you plug in to your phone, or you can buy a thermometer/thermostat that transmits data to an app on your phone. I'm familiar with the Nest, a mobile-controlled house thermostat that works with central AC systems. It comes with an iPhone/Android app that reports on temperatures and allows a huge degree of customization in your home AC settings, but it's very expensive at over $300. Westinghouse probably makes cheaper wireless models too, but these thermostats aren't worth the money if you have a wall heater or room AC.

Me, I bought a $15 instant-read digital food thermometer from Amazon.com and take temperature readings by pushing it's on button. Cheaper, faster and easy.

My Goodman AC unit is not working when i turn on ac on with is cold but the fan not is not running why ? but the heat is working fine { fan is working with the heat

Generally the fan operates by the command from the thermostat. First thing I would try is put the fan/auto switch in the on position. If the fan comes on you have a problem with the thermostat or the green wire that goes to the G terminal on the thermostat sub base. I suspect he may not have programed the thermostat for the type of system you have or he doesn't have a jumper between the rc and rh terminal on the sub base. Sometimes the jumper is not required and the thermostat instructions must be read completely to get the answers. Goods luck hope this helps.

Hi there, You need to change the thermostat on your temperature guage. It needs to be changed depending on the climate in your region be it temperate or tropical

Yes a bad thermostat can cause the problem you describe. So can a hot wire touching a common wire or the chassis of the ac. Check all wires thoroughly. Turn the power off. Use a volt ohm meter set for continuity. Remove all wires from the thermostat.Touch one meter lead to the ground on the airhandler. Touch the other meter lead to each thermostat wire, one at a time. The only time you should get a reading of continuity is when you touch the common wire. All other wires should read open. If you have any wire reading other than common, find out where it is bare and grounded. If only the common wire reads to ground, replace the thermostat.

Improper Termperature Readings during AC run

personally i'd just replace the thermostat, but try pulling the front panel off and look on the circuit board and see if there is a jumper for F/C or any other settings. you may try changing its position. you can also remove the batteries for 15 minutes and see if it resets itself. the only other thing it could be is a wiring issue.

My central ac system occasionally runs too long and the temperature gets way too cold. The digital thermostat reads that the temperature is too high so the ac still runs. This doesn't happen all the time...

I have seen this is many digital thermostats. The worst problems usually come from the touchscreen thermostats. I would suggest installing a new thermostat. Make sure that you read the instructions before you even remove the old one.
