Tip2: Replace a New Keyboard
Replace the inside of the keyboard with a new piece. One of the major problems with Dell keyboards is that the plastic pieces holding the keys in place become loose or broken. You can find a cheap keyboard from Sunvalleyus.com or an electronics store. Simply take apart the new keyboard, pull the keys off your keyboard, lay the plastic piece on top and replace your keys.Buy Compatible Dell Laptop Keyboard from Papatek.com, who offers Compatible Dell brand Keyboard wholesale, Compatible Dell Precision, Inspiron, XPS, etc with best price, 6 month warranty, and shipped fast from USA!

Get a sharp instrument like a knife or a flat head screw driver and look at the rim of the keyboard and theres pushed in gaps put the sharp instrument in there and turn it towards you and it should lift out.

LOOSE LEFT CTRL AND SHIFT KEYS

Generally, the keys on a portable keyboard are non-repairable. The keyboard is a Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) and if under warranty, Dell should send a replacement, If out of warranty, Ebay is a good source for a keyboard and they generally run about $20

You can try reseating the keyboard connector. If that doesn’t work, the keyboard needs to be replaced. To reseat the keyboard connector, follow this link: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins5100/en/sm/keyboard.htm#1084976
Be sure to remove AC power and the Battery.
