Load the new installer, that should solve your problem.

My computer is too slow - how do I make it faster?

    Slow Start Up
There can be a variety of reasons to Windows loading slow during start up. Go to Run, type msconfig and hit enter. Under the 'Start Up' tab, uncheck the unwanted programs and press OK. Things should be a bit fine the next time Windows boots.
Another program worth mentioning here is StartUp Delayer which will help in setting after how much time programs should be loaded after Windows boots. For instance, you could set your instant messenger program to load 50 seconds after Windows starts up.
    Slow Loading Start Menu
If the Start Menu items are loading slowly, you can open the Registry Editor by typing in the Run menu 'regedit.exe' and pressing Enter. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop. Look for MenuShowDelay, and double click to edit the value. The lower the number specified, the faster the Start Menu will load.
    Slow Right Click Context Menu
Probably the Windows Right Click menu on your computer is loading slow because too many programs added unwanted entries there. Just download this program called Mmm, install it and then modify your context menu to remove unwanted items to speed it up.
    win-fixes-send-to.jpg Slow Send To Menu
If the Send To menu loads slowly, you can type 'sendto' in the Run Dialog, and remove unwanted items in the Explorer Window that appears. This should add some speed to it.

    Slow Defragmentation
The Windows Defragmenter can't get any slower. You need to have an alternative to the Windows Defragmenter, and Defraggler is just one of the best ones available in the market. It's free, and works like a charm and can speed up defragmentation manifold. For some alternatives, see Five Free Programs to Defragment your PC.

    Very slow, sometimes cannot read

There are a lot of possible reasons for your computer to slow down. It might be some corruptions in the system, virus infection, over storage of files and documents, registry redundancy, and a lot more.

There are many things that you can do the make it run faster. But the best and the most accurate fix for this certain issue is the Operating System Re-installation.

Before doing so, I suggest you back up all the important files in your computer by saving them in an external storage device like USB flash drive, external Hard drive or DVD.

Slowing down of a system is a sign that the operating system is dying therefore don't wait for a day or two. Start backing up your files before it's too late.

Here are the guides that you should follow during the installation of the operating system.

Acer Computer... extremely slow response time.

try installing ccleaner. It is free software from download.com
once installed go to the tools then to startup and disable anything running in the startup. then run cleaner. If it is still running slow change the ram. There may be some kind of driver issue with your speakers. They may also be bad speakers. Who knows' but the netbooks are not going to have the best quality of sound anyways. worst case buy headphones or external speakers

It takes my PC a very long time to boot up, what can i do?

If you have installed any softwares recently it might slow down the pc as many softwares will install a startup file in order to start faster. You can shut these programs from starting up when the pc starts.
I put 2 steps to resolve this in order of simplicity.

Remove icons from the Startup folder
Some programs open with a shortcut icon in the startup folder (Startup icons). Use the following steps to show any startup icons that might be hidden and remove startup icons from the startup folder:
NOTE: Removing items from the Startup folder does not uninstall the software program.
    1. Right-click the Start button, and click Explore . The Windows Explorer window displays with Start Menu already selected.
    2. Click the plus sign ( + ) next to Programs .
    3. Click Startup . The shortcut icons are listed in the right pane of the window.
    4. To show any hidden icons, click Tools , click Folder Options , and click the View tab.
    5. Click Show hidden files and folders (Windows XP/ME) or Show all files (Windows 98), and click OK .
    6. Click an unwanted startup item in the right pane of the window and drag it to a blank area on the Windows desktop. Release the mouse button to drop the icon onto the desktop.
    7. Continue dragging unwanted icons until all unwanted startup icons are on the desktop. Click Yes to any window that display asking to confirm the removal of a read-only file.
    8. Close Windows Explorer and restart the computer for the changes to take effect. Delete the startup icons that were moved to the desktop after you are satisfied with the way the software programs are working.
If you find that a particular software program should not have been removed from the Startup folder, double-click the startup menu item to open the Startup window. Then drag the icon from the desktop back into the Startup window.

If you have IE7, click on START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS. Remove Windows Internet Explorer 7, reboot.

If you have IE6, click on START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS, ADD REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS, and uninstall IE (Internet Explorer). Reboot. Go back and reinstall IE. You may need the original XP CD. Borrow one from a friend if you can.
