Can you help, I need a regional code unlock for my Phillips MCD288. I have moved back to the UK from Dubai and get a wrong region code when trying to play a DVD

3 rectangular pins (same as British)

TV System:
PAL

Games region coding:
None

Movie region coding: B/2 (same as British, so buying Blue Ray and DVD films in UK will work on Dubai bought PS3)

About the region code I am sorry to say that but NO, region code in INDIA is C and your PS3 is B.

2.Press Remote Control (RC) "SYSTEM" key to enter DVD system setup menu;
3.Press RC "direction "key to hightlight the forth item "PREFERENCE PAGE" (not
entering the sub-item );
4.Press RC numeric key sequentially 811502(entery code,no display on TV);
5.Press RC "down direction" or "up direction" key to change REGION CODE,"0" is
all code.
6.Press RC "OK" key to confirm.
7.Press RC "SYSTEM" key to exit DVD system setup menu

You need to unlock the player before it will play discs from other regions. UK has region 2 discs while the US has region 1.

Search on Google for your DVD model and unlock code.
Dial in the code using your remote and you should then be able to play any region discs from around the world.

Try to unlock the region on your player using the folowing link. DVDs and DVD players have different region codes in different countries from 0-6 e.g. USA is region 1 and UK is region 2. So a USA DVD would not play on a UK DVD player. Hope this helps.

1. Press DVD "OPEN/CLOSE" key on remote Control (R/C) or main set to open the DVD door (note: if no disc on tray, then no need to open the door);
2. Press R/C numeric key sequentially 9735 (entry code, no display on TV), enter DVD region code setup menu.
3. Press R/C "down direction" or "up direction" key to change REGION CODE,"0" is all code.
4. Press R/C "OK" key to confirm.

Is this a Multi-region Player ?
Some Players are region Set to play Only the region they, are intended For. i.e Region 1 = NTSC( USA ) Region 2 = (PAL ) UK. Region 6 = ( ASIA ) And so on.
