Sometimes they use metal strips to hold on the fins in the drum. Check to see all of the fins are tight.

Sure you can use but keep a eye on the drum fins. If it comes off completely it may make your drum unbalanced.

What could cause dryer to suddenly not turn on?

Clean the inside of the dryer. Take the from bottom off or where ever you can take a side off that can get inside or buy one of those kits that has a hose and things to clean out the stubborn lint that clings to the sides of the exhaust and inside your dryer drum. They are very expensive and be found at many public stores or even dollar stores. Or your belt could have broken but then it would turn on but the drum wouldn't move.

Ge sensor dryer stops after minutes

I suspicion you problem may be lint.
In the last 6 months, I have taken apart 5 various brands of dryer and found them filled with lint inside, often as much as 2 - 3 shoe boxes full.
This lint is only removed by dismantling the whole machine, as it is in the tubes for exhaust air between the hole in the rear and the blower fan inside.
Some dryer models are worse than others for collecting lint inside.
Be blessed..

A sponge fell into the vent of my dryer. How do I get it out. Is it safe to run the dryer with the sponge in the vent hose?

If the sponge fell down inside where your lint filter goes, that could be a problem. It is entirely possible that the sponge was blown out of the machine and there is no problem at all. But, if you cannot retrieve it with a clothes hanger or anything like that, you will have to take the dryer apart. So yes, the sponge could cause a clog and clogs are bad. The hot air must be able to get out of the dryer and blown outside with the least resistance possible.

Taking the dryer apart. UNPLUG the dryer from the wall. Pull the dryer away and get behind. Remove the dryer vent and back panel (8 1/4 inch screws). On the left is the lint chute where the sponge could possibly be. Simply remove the 4-6 1/4 screws and take the chute out. Look inside for the obstruction :) If it is nowhere to be found, it made it out of the dryer. Check the vent behind the dryer and the exit of the house. If it is nowhere to be found it could be inside the vent going to the outside of your house. The vent needs to be cleaned at that point to get the sponge out.

Card put in camera. Afterwards noticed that the small metal contact strip had fallen off card. Card won't eject now.

So the metal strip is not inside the camera?
If no, try this: Cut a piece of stiff plastic, exactly the width of the metal strip (19mm) and as long as comfortable. The plastic should not be mush thicker than the metal strip. Carefully insert the plastic strip in the card slot next to the card on the side where the metalstrip is missing. Press down on the card as you insert the strip. Do not try to pull out the card with force as this would bend the tiny springs in the card slot. When the strip has released the springs, the card should eject.

My dryer drum sparks when i push on it

You have loose or shorted wiring in the dryer. Unplug the dryer.Raise the top lid. Remove the screws on the top right and left inside the dryer to remove the front panel. Disconnect the door switch wires and set the panel aside. Reach in under the drum and remove the drive belt from the motor and pulley. Remove the drum. Inspect the wiring visible inside. Remove the rear panel from the dryer and inspect all wiring and thermostats and fuse relays.Remove the terminal cover where the cord connects and inspect all wiring there for broke or loose. Open the control panel and inspect all wires there for broken or loose. Repair any wiring found defective and replace any parts found defective.

Looking for a wiring diagram for whirlpool awz135 tumbledryer

Don't know if this will help; I found one for my Whirlpool dryer inside! It was in a clear plastic bag taped to inside of front cover, I cam across it whilst I had the rear panel off.

Maybe take off front/rear panel after unplugging, you may find one inside?
