Im having a problem getting on to the internet with my emachine d620 it says there is no problem from my router to the computer but it still wont let me on the internet any ideas?

you must be new to laptop repair.

parts don't interchange at all, just the HDD If lucky and if the rear HDD actually word this old..
HP Laptop not stated, so....
better is desktops with ATX parts inside, that fit.
The screen dead, battery out and only AC power most times.

your PC is 11 years old (2008) and has CCLF.
acer.com now owns Emachines, just incase that helps,
my guess is Acer when they bought emachines in 2007
renamed it to Acer D620 and added LED back lamps.

ahhhh I see your angle YES HP has D620 to, called lattitude
and is not related at all. HP is usa, acer is china.
the D620 came in many sub models.d620-nnnnn
the nnnn means they are using different features for sure screens.
so.... there is no answer and the Acer.com seems to forget the PC exited. but I can't guess the brand name, like Aspire or?

Do you have internet service? I would call your internet service provider and talk to their service department, when you get on your own computer. They can get you going.

Press ALT+F10 at the Emachines logo. Hope this helps.

You need to get the model number of the Belkin unit, get on the web and find a driver for that router and install it.

You may have failed back light inverter board, or worst, bad lamp.

Actually any wireless router should work with this Emachine that you have, but I strongly recommend you get a wireless router from Linksys with this model number WRT54G so you wont be having any issue connecting the Emachine to the internet.

If your router has the external antenna the signal will increase when you point the antenna in the direction where the computer is used the most. It always helps to locate the router in a central area and on the upper floors of a house because the broadcast signal falls like rain. Another trick to try is to change your broadcast channel in the router, the normal default is channel 6. Each channel broadcasts at a slightly different frequency. Hope this helps...Tennis123
