Whirlpool Duet Steam is not heating to dry any clothes

Don't have your model so I couldn't bring up the schematic some will run with an open thermal fuse I suspect thermal fuse which is non resettable I've only run across a bad thermistor once based on the age check the exhaust exiting the house and at the dryer this a safety fuse designed to open due to excessive heat if the dryer cannot breath restricted exhaust.

Dryer heats sometimes and other times it does not. tested heater element and fuses and they were good. replaced both thermostats and it still does not heat well. any suggestions

You did not post make or model, so I can't be certain what technology your dryer employs or it's age. Here is my suggestion... Have you cleaned the lint trap area all the way to machine exit? How about the hose to the outside, is it clean and not bent or restricted? If there is a restriction, the steam cant escape and and it will take forever for the clothes to dry. I'd also check to see if there is air coming out the exhaust. If not, check to see if the fan is clogged with lint, intermittent or missing. If no air flows through the drum, it will keep it hot and moist, and never dry the clothes.

The appliance works but does not heat sufficiently to dry the clothes. The appliance can run for ages but not dry the clothes?!

You will need the thermostat or heating element replaced. if you need instructions on how to do this please post back with make, model, and model number.

I have model 110.60832990 and the dryer is on the drum is turning, the heat is on but the clothes are not drying.

Check the air outlet and see it is not clogged with dirt/flint. Clean the air filter mesh located at the air outlet of flint. This blocks the free flow of air and thus do not dry the clothes. Drying will take place when the air inside has free flow. Before putting clothes in the dryer EVERYTIME this filter must be cleaned OR after every drying cycle.

Is it normal to see steam coming out of the dishwasher in the drying cycle?

Yes, The colder the room its in the more steam you will see. It will look like more steam if sun light is shinning over it. Just like your clothes dryer blowing steam out side. Its just drying.

My dryer is heating up but isn't drying the clothes

I would be REALLY suspicious of the exhaust vent. If the dryer is heating up and the drum is turning, it has to dry the clothes UNLESS there is no air going through the dryer. Disconnect the air outlet flexible plastic duct at the back of the unit, and turn it on. If there is no or very little air coming out, the inside of the unit will be plugged with lint. If there is lots of air coming out, the exhaust duct or the outside flapper will be plugged. Sometimes if the exhaust is routed through a cold space there will be so much condensation in the duct that it will droop and literally fill up with water.

Not drying

It may not be your heating element. Your dryer lint vent pipe out the back of the machine or maybe out the side may be plugged. You have to pull the machine out and clear that pipe or rebuild it out to a soffit vent or static vent if it is in the attic, or out through your crawl space. This will make a huge difference. If that hot air and moisture doesn't get out of the machine it just goes back into your clothes.
Good luck!!

Dryer problrm

The sympoms are typical of a couple of reasons.
  1. Blocked condenser.
  2. faulty cold inlet valve, not letting water in to condense steam back to water.
When it is on the drying cycle, see if you can see water pumping out of the drain at. a slow rate.
If you can see no water at all coming from outlet hose, then chances are it is a faulty valve, and you will have replace same.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Does not heat

"Steam drying will get how but the air that comes later to actually dry is cold so the clothes never dry"

I am assuming "how" means hot in this sentence, if so, I think I can help! There is no "steam drying" phase for your dryer so what is probably happening is; the wet clothes are being heated properly [as a result causing steam] however if this steam does not escape frum the dryer it will simply condense back onto the clothing [leaving them moist/wet].
Check your flexible tube from the dryer and the vent on the outside of your home to make sure they are unobstructed. Hope this helps!
