Want to format my epc 7' netbook in order to reinstall a new operating system and add more memory

You will need to insert the original restore CD that came with your computer or a copy of the operating system that you would like to install and then boot the disc at start up and follow the on screen prompts. To add more memory, open up the cover lid at the bottom of your netbook and if there are two slots, add another 1GB memory stick to the empty slot. If there is only one slot, remove the current memory stick and replace with a larger (2 GB) stick. Click on the links below to read more:

If your netbook does not have an optical drive, you will need to purchase or borrow a portable CD/DVD optical drive that plugs into your USB port. Go to this website at the link below and use the program that will scan your computers memory and let you know how much memory you can install

Asus eee pc turns on, screen goes blank

If you see the system screen and the cursor, the monitor is fine. You likely either have had your operating system corrupted (I dont know if your EEE PC has Windows 7 or a Linux distribution) or it's possible your hard drive died....but i would try the OS first.

NOTE....do you have a backup of the data??? because reinstalling your operating system will format and erase your data. So if you dont have a backup, you may want to take out the hard drive and plug it into another machine and see if you can make a backup copy of the data first

After that, you choose to boot from your Operating System Disk (Windows 7 disk) follow the prompts to format and reinstall your Windows.

I want to system restore my netbook but do not know how

Hi andygrew90...

To do a complete system restore, you will need to format the hard drive and reinstall the operating system with the drivers.
To do that you will:
1...Double left click on "My Computer"
2...When the pop open window opens, Go to your main drive normally this is "C" drive and double left click on it.
3...When the window opens you will click on "Format"
After you format your hard drive then you will reinstall the operating system and driver with the discs that you made when you first got your netbook (unless your lucky and got the disc's with the computer)
This will bring your computer back to the original condition when it was new.

Hi

Reinstalling the operating system will surely make your computer faster. Since you do not have Windows 7 disk and you do not have hardware driver for your laptop. I suggest you send it to reformat to a technichian for a small fee and he will download the correct hardware driver for your netbook and then reinstall the fresh operating system. will sure will run your computer faster. I want to format my netbook because it has many viruses that make it work slowly

Right click on the partitions you want to format ( except the one you have installed the OS on) and click format. After that you should reinstall your OS, this will also format the partition where you have your OS installed.

I have a sylvania notebook i want to change os how do i do that i have no cd rom do i use a usb flash windows ce is harable.

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot change the OS on that notebook as it is an embeded system. The Gsystem is burned into a chip on the mother board and the only way at present is to reprogram a like chip and solder it in place after de-soldering the old chip. Then you would have to buy another embeded system and learn to program an EEprom chip.
