In the past I had to use or brow a monitor that can do the resolution. Login then set the resolution to a low number like 800x600 which monitor will run then put my monitor o and work up the resolution or know the resolution of the monitor click on it and go. Yo and 15 sec window to say OK or it will come back to the lower resolution.

Non display for DELL GX 110PC Desktop

Either your monitor is bad or the video card inside the computer is bad. To isolate the problem try a different monitor on the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker. If the borrowed monitor works, then your original monitor is bad. If the Borrowed monitor does not work, then the video card inside your computer is bad.

Samsung syncmaster793mb monitor displayed red colour

check the VGA cable from the monitor which is connected to the CPU move the cable fixed to the cpu back and forward and see whether the color is changing also check with another monitor it is to determine whether the fault is in with your graphics card or the monitor after changing the monitor if you still have the problem the problem is with the video session of the motherboard. to rectify add a add on graphics card to the port available like pci.agp or pci exp which is available in the motherboard

Hi i have just brought a bigger monitor for my computer and as i turn the tower on the screen remains black. i think you need to raise the resalution. but im not sure how to,would you be able to help ?...

You can try to plug your old monitor back in a and change the resolution higher, then plug your new monitor in. If that does not work your computer does not support higher resolution you can buy a better graphics card. Or you need drivers for the monitor.

I am in charge of a computer account here at work and have about 15 ACER 1916B monitors that are all inop...The monitors power up and show the ACER startup then show the windows startup to only go...

This problem is caused by 2 things, the computer is set to a higher resolution that the monitors can handle, so when the graphics card drivers kick in as windows boots the screen goes blank, this is normally the problem for people trying to hook there computers to normal lcd televisions not monitors, as monitors generally are able to show higher resalutions.

In your case because you are using computer monitors, the problem will be caused by the refresh rate settings on the windows, most desktop lcd monitors have a fixed refresh rate of 60hz, my guess is your computers are set as 75hz therefore as windows boots the screen goes blank because it dosent support that high a refresh rate.

To resolve this problem, just before windows boots press F8 on the keyboard, this should bring up a black command prompt screen, at the top you will see the safemood option, tab up to it and press enter, this goes to windows but dosent load any drivers including the graphics driver. Once loaded right click the mouse in the middle of the screen, and bring the display properties window up, in this window click on the settings tab, click on advanced on the bottem right of the window, this will bring up another window, click on the monitor tab, on this window you will see the screen refresh rste setting, click the small arrow and set this to 60hz and click ok, in the other window reduce the resalution down abit using the slider, click apply and close the window, then reboot the mechine as normal, the problem should now be sorted, any problems post me back. thanks and hope this helped.

I have an NEC '19 Multisync LCD 1920nx monitor. The display went blank and will not come back on. There's power going to it. It just doesn't display and image. How do i fix this?....thanks

more than likely it's not your monitor, but your graphics card. Do you have on board graphics or do you have a graphics card installed?

My game will not play

Please install first the driver of your video card..

If that did not work, then try this:

Open your cpu, disconnect your video card from your motherboard, clean the contact point with moisten cloth and let it dry.. reseat the video card properly on the motherboard... connect the cable from the monitor to the video card..turn on the computer.. on the task bar a message will pop up: found new hardware; your hardware is installed and ready to use.. if that appear then your video card is ready, and resolution can be change..

There is also one reason why your video card cannot be detected.. Your system could be using an integrated graphics controller which your windows operating system provided for your motherboard video drivers.. you need first to delete that so that your video card will be detected and use by your motherboard.. how? try these steps..
1. On My Computer, right click and select properties.
2. Select Hardware tab, and click Device Manager.
3. On the list of device manager, click View menu and select Devices by type
4. Double click Display Adapters, to display the list of connected graphics adapter.
5. Disable the graphics adapter listed, by right clicking of the file name and select uninstall.
6. Now close any program and shutdown your computer..
7 Connect your video card to the motherboard and turn on your computer. Your computer will run its add new hardware device , just be ready with your driver files..

If you can give me the full detail of your video card and the operating system you are using then I can help you find the right driver for your video card..

If this help you fix your problem, would you please rate this solution...much thanks..

Input not Supported

The signal being sent is outside of the rated limits of the monitor (vertical or horizontal synch rates). Boot up in safe mode (by hitting F8 during the initial startup of the computer, before the windows logo screen comes up). Select Safe Mode. If you get a display in this mode, then you know your graphics card is sending a signal outside of the monitors limits, if not, then the monitor itself is probably bad. NOTE: The following steps are for Windows XP only... if you have a different OS, please reply and I'll research the steps for you.

If it is your graphics card, while in safe mode, right click on My Computer and choose Properties. Click on the Hardware tab. Click on Device Manager and double click the Display Adapter entry. Right click on your graphics card and click uninstall. This will force the computer to reinstall the graphics drivers at bootup and, hopefully, reset the adapters output mode. Reboot the system and once in, set your display settings to the best for your monitor (Windows XP should pick the best setting if the monitor is plug and play).

I just upgraded to Windows 7 and can't adjust the resolution on my screen. I have a 19'' Hanspree HF199H monitor

Changing the resolution on the screen is the job of the graphics card on the computer. Either run windows update or visit the card manufacturer support site and search for an appropriate driver or software package. ATI and Nvidia both have "control panel" add-ins that will come up when you right click on the display. scroll down to the control panel and all your settings will be there.
