Question about Televison & Video
Soniq QSP422T LGEPDP problem
am an old CRT electronics tech been out of the TV scene for many many years. dont know bugger all about plasma's. so forgive the newbie questions. the power supply is all good, but the HV (posibly the SUSTAN PCB) LGEPDP board model 42X4 has a blown fuse and and VSS is short to ground. there are 2 long ribbon connectors that connect to the PDP. I guess its like a LOPT HV supply in CRT terms :)
imagine replacing the whole module/PCB labeled 42X4 might go alright but what are the chances the plasma display panel electrode thingys are shorting at HV and destroyed this board. how often do plasma displays go short. both electrodes/connectors are very high resistance to each other and ground, but i have no idea what V they operate at or the risk in trying to replace this board???
do plasma display panels fail often ??
