Question about Goldstar R8000 Air Conditioner

1 Answer

My Goldstar has started squeeking... not vibrating... squeeking. Any suggestions? It sounds like something needs some WD-40 sprayed on it.

Sound to me like the fan motors squeeking may need a little lube these motors are sealed to protect them from the elements it is possible that a lube port exsists on rear of the motor it will have a little plastic plug in it you can oil it there. a good one to use is zoom spout oiler hardwre store may have it wd 40 not good for this app. wont last. if not an old trick i do is tilt the unit with the shaft and condenser fan facing up and put just a couple drops on the shaft you will see it run in DONT USE TO MUCH CAN DAMAGE MOTOR so be careful this should help.

My questain is can you oil or grease the fan motor, it squeels when its running but other than that ot works fine. its a goldstar wg1005r 10,000 BTU unit?

Usually not on these types of units. If it is squealing, it will eventually seize. You could try spraying some wd-40 on the shaft when the motor is running and then turning it off and letting the wd soak for a while. Usually when wd is sprayed on a motor with bad bearings, it will loosen all the gunk up and make the motor louder than before, but I have had kill the squeal a few times. This is an at your own risk type fix as it could make the problem worse. Best option is to buy a new motor or unit. Sometimes the motor will cost a few dollars less than a brand new unit.

I have a 1999 Pontiac grand AM 4dr. se. when i turn my car on there is a high pitched squeeking sound coming from someplace in the front of the car(i dont know where).i was thinking maybe the distributor...

If you have a can of WD-40 around the house, spray the belt and see if the squeak goes away. If not, there may be an idler or tensioner pulley bearing getting bad. Let me know the results of the WD-40 and we will go from there.

Dryer squeeks while running

Most likely the noise is coming from the rollers and need to be replaced but a quick fix is to spry WD-40 on the rollers to shut it up, if you spray all the rollers and you still have the noise then it may be a belt.

Squeekie noise in the front of my 1989 f250

First, do a normal lube job on all the joints that have fittings. then, spray wd40 on one bushing at a time till you find the noisy one...inspect it may be worn and in need of replacement.

Fan belt was broken at 28000 kms replaces but squeaking noise on start comes plz help to rectify the prob thanx

Spray some WD-40 on the at a time. This will let you know which pulley needs lube or replacement. If your belt is too tight it will squeek also.

Do the first thing...let me know what you find.

The squeeking sound usually is in the fuser area

open the fuser roller area( clear paper jam the rollers are hot wait until it cools down get some spray silicone(similar to wd 40 with a plastic tube to reach small areas spray small amount on any e
xposed gears(plastic ) do not spray the fuser rollers

if you see nay other moving parts give them a light spray

turn back on and see if sound has stopped

If not try to determine when squeeking starts

then spary appropriate area

My MFC 9700 makes a terrible squeeking noise when it prints

To get the service manual for your MFC-9700 (see page 7), go here:

WD-40 works the best, as most parts would not be damaged by it. Try to figure out by looking at it when it is printing what parts are rotating (this may or may not require some disassembly). If you decide to spray something that rotates (like the hubs of the little rubber wheels that move the paper), be careful to use it sparingly and don't spray it all over everything. A spray of 1/100 of a second or less will usually do the job.

Good luck.
