Did you drop something down the hose to see if it would come out the other end? The dirt inlet down by the brush roll may have a clog in it. From what you say, there has to be a clog.

Why doesn't my dirt devil vision turbo have any suction through the hose yet there's good suction at the hose connection to the canister?

The hose is probably blocked. If possible reverse it (put the intake of the hose on the canister connection) that should suck out the obstruction. If that fails try to carefully push a broom handle into the hose, preferably from the end that connects to the canister. Put the hose back on normally and see what happens.

Nothing going into dirt canister

Is there suction at the hose? If not it is either blocked or the suction fan is broken. If there is, then there is a blockage in the pickup section, something is lodged across the channel after the brushes and before the place where the hose plugs in.

I think there is a safety switch to prevent it from running with the canister out so hard to check for suction at the top of the motor/suction fan. Make sure nothing is over that part under the canister too! If you can figure out how to bypass the safety switch (if there is one), you should have good suction where the canister sets on top of the motor base.

Every thing clean & sucking well except wont pickup off floor. brush in good condition &rotating. any answers would help.

This is hard to answer without see it in person. Check and make sure there is no broken pieces on the bottom where you could loose suction. Also make sure you have the machine set correctly for either bare floors or carpet. If it is on set on carpet and yopu are cleaning bare floors you might loose suction there also. Also make sure you check all pathways for the dirt to get to the canister fo any signs of blockage. Are all the filters in place like they should be? Sounds like the suction is getting diverted from the floor somehow, make sure everything is secure and locked in place on the canister. Also check on the top of the handle and make sure the little purple screen is moved back into place covering the top of the handle, you could be sucking more air in thru this inlet and not enough off the floor! This is usually moved out of the way when you connect the hose to the handle for your attatchments. It may still be pulled back and needs to be moved forward into place!

Our Dirt Devil D2 bottom has no suction

I would check the bottom of the unit to see if there is any blockage. I don't know if this unit has a switch that you set to switch from hose to floor. If so I would set it to floor and see if there is any suction in the hose, indicating a switching problem. If there is no suction in the hose, I would still check the bottom of the unit and disassemble it as much as you feel comfortable to see if you can see any blockage. Good luck!

My vacuum tools have very weak suction.

There is a foam ring filter in the bottom of the canister that collects the dirt. It screws off of the bottom on the canister. Take outside and shake it out. It fixed our suction problem.

My dirt devil reaction is spitting out dirt everywhere. how do i fix this?

Sound like you have an obstruction in the suction path. check the foot (bottom) check for suction at the hose for blockage. the blockage is where you lose suction.

I can't use the hose

I had a similar problem with my Hoover Elite and just resolved it today. Mine was also picking up with the beater bar, but not as good as it should and it had very little suction at the hose, so little that the powered hand tool brush would not spin at all.

I did everything it said to do in my owners manual...
I looked into every entry to the dirt cup.
I checked for blockages into the bottom of the vacuum.
I cleaned the HEPA and regular filters and dirt cup - still no success.
I made sure the belt was working properly.

I finally sat and looked at how things should get into the clear dirt cup (bagless model).

I finally realized it had to be a blockage in the hose.

I completely detached the hose from the vacuum - this took some muscle, but there is the word "LOCK" where the hose attaches near the dirt cup. Turn it counter clockwise or to the left and with some umph it will unlock and detach from the vacuum.

Then I took the hose outside and used my high pressure nozzle on my garden hose to spray out the hose. It took a few seconds before a pretty large & stiff piece of paper (2"x2") and much more very dirty stuff finally blew out...
No wonder the vacuum had no suction!!!

The paper that was blocking the hose reminds me of a piece found under a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup! YIKES, it was probably candy causing yet more problems besides the extra pounds!!!

Hope this helps - I'm not an expert, just a frustrated cleaning fanatic who hates it when mechanical things don't work right!

Good LUCK from Henderson, NV!!!
