The washing Machine knocks during spinning

Easy fix: Readjust the riser supports and level the washer. Some washers have adjustable feet that screw up and down. Put a level across the top of the washer and when it is level front and back, the legs are in the correct position. Some units have auto-level adjustment meaning you have to pull your washer forward and bounce it gently back toward the wall and lift the Front in the same fashion. In some cases side to side adjustment by lifting one side up and then the other can do the same thing in adjusting the levels. Either way you must LEVEL the washer in order to STOP the rattle or bounce.

The washer bounces really bad on the high spin cycle

Your washer may not be leveled properly. Use the adjustable legs to level your washer so it doesnt shake too much on high spin.

Just moved our washer across country. Now the washing machine is bouncing all over the room during spin cycle. The machine is level. Does it have weights inside that can be adjusted?

yes and no, yes has weights, no can not be adjusted. inspecth the washer for any bent-dents in cabinet and under machine, legs etc. check floor for uneven tiles. last, is possible that internal damage has occurs during transport or a spring came loose in transit. to verify that you have to open iside and inspect.

good luck to you.

During the spin cycle the machine bounces accross the floor. I have leveled it with a level side to side and back to back. It continues to be unbalanced even with small and large loaeds.

Hi,

It is not a levleing issue.... there are shocks inside there that help to stabilize the tub when the load is spinning... they are broken and so the tub is out of control...

You will need to tear it apart... find the broken parts and replace them...

Spin vefy fast

A rapid spin cycle is actually a GOOD thing. This is an indication that the gearcase (transmission) and the drive motor are both running strong.

If the washer shudders during the spin cycle the first thing you need to do is check to ensure the washer is properly leveled. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3868923-level_whirlpool_top_loading_washer

The model Whirlpool top loader you have, has an auto-leveler mechanism on the back two legs that can become unlevel periodicailly. You should check the washer level from time to time when it is empty. You need to also make sure the washer is level in ALL directions (front-to-back and side-to-side).

Accidental unbalance problems that can occur from washing blankets, comforters, or heavy loads of towels can also cause the washer to become unlevel and shake. This can also contribute to the level mechanism becoming unbalanced.

Overloading the washer can also cause unbalance problems. Washing blankets or conforters can cause the load weight to shift to one side of the tub. This will result in a tub that shakes violently and bangs against the cabinet. You may have to redistribute the load weight when washing heavy items. This can also occur when washing loads of towels. This is NORMAL as some heavy items do not distribute the weight evenly.

Another problem (which is less common) that can contribute to wash unbalance problems is a weak floor under the washer. If the floor flexes (even the slightest) during the spin cycle, it can cause the washer to bounce or shake. Mobile homes or laundry rooms on the second floor of a home are notorious for having weaker floor structures. This washer has a 35 gallon tub capacity. Coupled with the weight of a wet load and the spinning action, this can put a lot of centrifugal force on a floor.

If you have any questions or concerns, please post back and let me know. I hope this information is helpful to you.

During spin cycle, washing machine is bouncing around the room

Sounds like the drum, balance weights have come off, to me. This will cause those symptoms.

Excessive vibrating and banging in the spin cycle with some washes. The unit is only 1 month old. Any advice?

You have a improper installation. The machine has to be perfectly level side to side and frotnt to back. After leveling, check the feet on the bottom and see if one is bouncing on spin with a load. Adjust the bouncing foot down until machine stops bouncing.

LG front loading washer: recently moved to a new house and laundry room is on the 2nd floor. Re-installed the shipping bolts in the back of the washer that secures the drum prior to moving the washer. But...

Make sure machine is level and all four leveling legs are solidly touching floor at the same time. Make sure leveling leg locking nuts are screwed up to lock legs in place. Check floor for firmness. (try bouncing up and down in front of washer to see if the floor has excessive give.) You may need to re-inforce floor. Wash larger loads. On bulky items, use a lower spin speed. You can re-spin at a higher speed after cycle is complete if you want them spun out better. (some models have a pump and spin only setting, on others, just turn on the power and then only touch the spin speed button to select a 14 minute pump and spin only cycle, then touch the start button.) The only other thing is that the new LG washers use a balance ring now, which makes the machine perform much smoother. (I know because I gave my old LG to my son and replaced it with the newer model, which now runs much quieter, in the exact same location as the old one.)

Spin Cycle - washer starts bouncing around room even though level

There are about 6 pairs of springs to hold the bottom tube to the bottom chassis. If some of these came off from designed positions, the tube won't be in balance then the washer starts bouncing off. Make sure these pairs of springs in place then you have no problem.

The machine goes crazy when it's on the extended spin (fast spin). If I set it to "gentle spin, would it disengage the fast spin? Whirlpool didn't know the answer!

Even with a good level machine these are very heavy units containing 3 concrete weights. The floor is a direct contributor to vibration and yes it;s worse on the Ex spin with a higher spin speed. If it's on a wood floor even in a new home that can cause this issue. One way to make sure the machine is ok is to put it on a concrete floor, level it and hit the high speed spin with a wet load. Not a easy thing to do but one way to confirm it.

Even a normal spin is enough spin speed to extract enough water. Stick with that!
