Question about Acer Aspire 9300-3716 Notebook

Screen on my acer aspire i9300 is black and after turning it on you hear one long beep followed by two short beeps then later the windowssound is heard like it is starting but the screen is still black what could cause this and how could i fix it thanks

try to reset all ram again if not solved change the screen

    if this not work take it to service centre your vga card may fault.

It sounds like your computer's motherboard has shorted out. When this happens, all the lights on the computer will come on but a fuse has busted within it, possibly one of the capacitors have gave out which can be an expensive or cheap fix depending on how technically inclined you are. If there is no beep codes at all, this is possibly the case.

When you turn on your computer, if you don't hear a series of beeps. It's the motherboard. If you hear beeps and it turns on, it could relate to your Hard Disk, RAM, GPU, or CPU. But there are different beep codes per manufacturer and you can look up the beep codes for your model type. It's pretty expensive to fix if you take it to a shop.

Have the same problem and i solved it after 1 month tries
the problem was in NVIDIA Graphic card
the solution was by by heating the NVIDIA Graphic card for 5 min or more

Computer beeps, minor flash on the screen, then shuts off


Computers follows a process which what we call P.O.S.T (Power On Self Test) to tests the computer to make sure it meets the necessary system requirements and that all hardware is working properly before starting the remainder of the boot process. If the computer passes the POST the computer will have a single beep (with some computer BIOS manufacturers it may beep twice) as the computer starts and the computer will continue to start normally. However, if the computer fails the POST, the computer will either not beep at all or will generate a beep code, which tells the user the source of the problem.

It depends on how long or how short or how many beeps did you hear to determine which hardware component in your computer is failing.

Here is a helpful link that you can check and follow for you to determine which hardware is failing in your computer.

After determining which hardware it is, I would recommend that you consult a Local Technician near your area, although, if this Acer Aspire is still under warranty with Acer, it will be better to contact them so that they can have whichever hardware part replaced.

When i start my computer just before it gets to the windows screen it shuts off..what do i do


If you're hearing beep codes like 1 short beep followed by 2 long beeps or 1 long followed by 2 short beeps...these beep codes is for either the video card or RAM.

If you could open the computer, remove the video card and RAM from their slots and clean the gold plates with dry cotton cloth. And clean the slots using a blower to remove the dust.

If that did not resolve the issue, listen to the beep code and consult a technician so that he could tell you which component is defective.

What you hear are bios beeps. They signal you that something is wrong. These beep's vary by the manufacturer of the bios chip that you have.

You can find out what bios you have by looking at your manual. The common cause for one long and two short beeps is a video problem.

Either the video chip on your mobo is shot, or your video card needs attention.

Acer aspire 9300 black screen (display adapter)


I have been fixing computers that has long beeps and short ones. It is usually attributed to memory problem connection. Open the memory compartment at the back of the PC then detach the memory card. Clean with cloth softly enough not to destroy the circuit board or a pencil eraser to clean-up dust that caused the connection blockade. Reconnect after cleaning.

what you are hearing is a beep code, if its 3 short beeps then its the memory which has developed a fault and it may need to be replaced

Black Screen and Beeping on turning on my Laptop


One long beep followed by 2 short beeps indicates a problem with the display adapter; which accounts for the black screen. A couple of questions for you: 1) is this a laptop that you use on a regular basis and this is the first time you had this problem? 2) have you installed any new programs and/or drivers? 3) Have you tried booting into safe mode? You may be able to get into your system that way, especially if you need to get information off of the HD. Let me know the answers to the questions.

Acer aspire 5100 - screen is turned off, cant turn it back on


The bios beep codes indicate the video card is not working, so you won't see anything on the screen.

Your video card is either dead, or is not contacting the board correctly.
If you are keen to open it up I will offer instructions to assist you. But in reality, your safest bet is to take it to a laptop shop and get them to do it. There are a lot of tiny screws in these things.
