Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop Motherboard Replacement

LOL, It means whoever sold you that Power Cord probably sold you one with the interchangeable end that can plug into any laptop. If it's not the interchangeable end type, they sold you one that is not compatible with your laptop. Get rid of it in a hurry before it burn out your motherboard. You my friend need to get on ebay and purchase a power cord designed specifically just for an Dell Inspiron 1525. All you need to search for on ebay is Dell Inspiron 1525 AC Adapter. They probably cost less than $10

why u want to replace the motherboard.... as the 1525 model has gone i dont think u will be able to find the motherboard of dell inspiraon even if find the price will be more then your laptop it self ... if you have vga problem try to find the appropriat drivrs rather rahter than replacing the whole mother board...

This laptop is fairly easy to check for overheating causes.
Remove the large cover from the back of the laptop to reveal the CPU and heatsink fan. Clean the area around the fan and heatsink. Power the laptop on and see if the fan moves ( also see that the 3 pin connector that connects the fan to the motherboard is plugged in).

Check for blown capacitors, burning around the components and signs of overheating on the board area that you can see. You could try replacing the CPU chip in case it has burned out, however, I rather suspect that the overheating has damaged another component on the motherboard and a replacement motherboard is required

The motherboard probably has been compromised, the only way to be sure is take it to a computer tech and have it checked out with a estimate.

Hi. Download the latest BIOS from www.support.dell.com and follow the instructions carefully. If the system still doesn't charge the battery, it's either you have a dead battery or the motherboard needs replacement.

The battery is located on the motherboard and requires openning your laptop. Fairly easy task just a lot of screws to undo and replace.

More than likely, at a minimum, you will need a replacement keyboard and motherboard, possibly palmrest, optical drive and hard drive all depending on the liquid, and where it entered the system and other factors.

If you are not good working on a portable system, labor would be at Least $100 at a local shop.

So if you damaged a lot of componets, a replacement is likely cheaper.

1. Disconnect any power and remove the battery
2. Tilt the system in various angles to drain as much of the water from the system as possible.
3. Let the system dry for several days, (I'd say a minimum of 4) is a relatively warm place
4. Insert Battery, see if system will power on.

If the system was powered on when the spill occurred and turned off by itself during the spill, then the motherboard has most likely been damaged and will need replacement. ($100 or so on EBay)
If the system will not power on after drying, you might consider replacement rather than repair as the cost of fixing it could exceed the replacement cost. (Dell has portables starting around $399)

replace u r computer, as the cost of mother board and the age of your computer I suggest replacement.

The Bios battery is probably dead. It is installed on the motherboard, replace the battery.
